Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. My stay at Mozumo was a dream—a very relaxing experience. The private onsen in the room made everything very special. The room was big and comfortable. I would strongly recommend the dinner and breakfast experience. A shuttle picked us up from the bus station, which was helpful after a long trip.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. Very charming and aesthetic little hotel restaurant located in the woods just out of town. With nice little onsen - showers. Fantastic cuisine and wine (let the chef-owner pic for you). And extremely friendly and accommodating owner couple happy to pick you up / drop you off in town.

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. Best ryokan in best city (much better than Kyoto and Takayama) and we stayed in many before.

Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.

Beautiful location and view of the river from the room we stayed in. Friendly host. The property had all the necessary amenities and was of a good size.
