Hotel Frohe Aussicht is located in the small village of Schwende near Appenzell. I was mainly looking for a place to stay for one night, and I chose this one because it was conveniently located and had its own parking space. So I wasn't expecting much, but it quickly became clear that Hotel Frohe Aussicht was an excellent choice. The room was basic, with a private balcony and bathroom. The hotel had an excellent restaurant. The staff were nice and professional. The views from the balcony were amazing. I could have spent more nights here. I definitely recommend it.

We had a room in the pavilion (room 47). It was amazing with a terrace and a nice view over the mountains. We were travelling with our daughter and our dog. They were so kind to provide us for the dog with a nice blanket and a food bowl. The room was clean and spacious, food was good and the entire vibe was of relaxation and quiet. We slept very well. We used the pool which was cleand and refreshing. It was a nice surprise to find this place and we trully recommend it, especially the pavilon rooms up to the hill.

Right next to the ski slopes and the Iltiosbahn Cable Car, this 4-star hotel in Wildhaus is 200 metres from the scenic Schwendisee Lake.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They’re very accommodating and professional. The breakfast was good. The room is very comfortable and cozy. A few steps from ski area. A few steps from the bus stop that takes you the train station.
