Our recent stay at Zhiwa Ling was nothing short of extraordinary, not just for the serene beauty and comfort the hotel offers, but more so for the unparalleled compassion and support shown by the staff during a very unexpected and difficult time for our family. Upon arriving in Bhutan, we were captivated by the charm of Paro town and the hotel room and grounds. However, my mother suddenly fell ill, and the response from the Zhiwa Ling team was was nothing short of exceptional and deeply moving. From the moment we sought help, the staff treated us not as guests, but as their own family. They coordinated immediate medical support, ensured our comfort at every step, and went out of their way to check on her throughout each day and night we were there. Their empathy, warmth, and sense of responsibility were truly remarkable. In a foreign country, far from home, it's rare to find such genuine human connection. The entire experience reminded us that hospitality, at its best, is about heart, not just service. To the Zhiwa Ling team—thank you. We will never forget your kindness. You not only made our stay comfortable, you gave us strength when we needed it most. We would like to especially thank Pema who was very kind at reception, Pemba the amazing manager and Sonam our incredible driver. Pemba and Sonam, in particular, stayed with us each step of the way guiding and reassuring us. They became our extended finally. Same for Zhiwa Ling Accent and team who treated us with warmth and love We will surely visit all of you again, even if it’s just to say hello!

The hotel was excellent. The staff could not do enough to make us feel at home. Everything was perfect. We spent both Christmas and New Year’s Eve at the hotel and the staff went out of their way to help us celebrate both occasions. I have spent many many years travelling , the experience at Tis hotel was one of the most memorable. Thank you to all the staff

Perfect and comfortable stay, with family including elderly parents and our toddler daughter. Hotel had all necessary facilities, good choice of food, great location and very very helpful staff. Using the Indoor heated swimming pool in the cold weather was the highlight !

Yoona (fondly called Missie), is the Architect, designer and co-owner of this place. She welcomed us warmly, always smiling and patiently listened to all our"asks" and addressed all our requirements. The place is beautiful in a beautiful, scenic setting, filled with even more beautiful people. We thought their stone bath was heavenly... The ambience, the bath itself, the open night sky, is a not to miss experience. Sonam, co-owner and Yoona's husband, is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Bhutan. I recommend you reach out to them for a complete consultation even while you are planning your trip. The setting is perfect for team building, leadership outings, yoga retreats, different types of travel groups and also a wedding destination. Their chef will go out if his way to treat you to Bhutanese and Indian cuisines... Which you will find authentic and True to its nativity just as the perfectly designed resort. The staff goes out of their way to welcome you and ensure your stay is comfortable beyond your expectations. I totally recommend Taksangri La as your base as you do other things in Bhutan. I hope you get to meet Sonam's 84 year old mom and enjoy her company as much as we did.

This hotel is a pearl! Staff, rooms, meals and location is perfect. In addition to the usual hotel facilities they have massage and other healing activities. I tried the massage, and it was great!

Excellent staff & hospitality. Beutiful views of Trongsa Zong, Museum & town amidst the mountains & valleys. Music of birds chirpping through the day while enjoying the Sea of Clouds in early mornings presenting an ever changing landscape driven by Mother Nature. Food is great. Suite rooms offer a bath tub with hot mineral rich water with balance PH (water is blue). Enjoyed the outdoor hot bath with greay views! Hot water for shower with strong pressure amd consistent flows really great for comfort. Beds are fantastic with regular house keeping at least 2xs a day, including making beds while we are off for dinner.

We stayed here the last night of our brief visit in Bhutan in order to be somewhat close to the airport before a very early flight. While at first it may appear a little outside of the city due to being higher up, there is walkable shortcut down to the center. Taxis are plentiful and very affordable. As a landmark you can say in the vicinity of the hospital. You have a vast view of the valley and Rinpung Dzong. We felt very well received by the young and polite team. This was the only room in Bhutan which was warmed up prior to our arrival. Drinking water was plentifully provided. The beds were very comfortable and there is a serene glass-enclosed balcony to take in the view or meditate. Throughout the property there were nods to serenity like a meditation area or a library overlooking the valley. The food is fantastic, very fresh and to a large extend home-grown. Loved the spinach and mushrooms. Though it may not be an obvious choice due to the location being a little out of the center, I highly recommend Dzi Pema for the kind and sincere hospitality.
