I am a designer and the room was just the best, most well designed space on our trip in Sri Lanka! Spacious, lovely light concept, large bathroom. Best of all were the 2 lounge chairs on the balcony. Most comfy space to read.

Good Karma Hotel is located on Rekawa Beach in Tangalle, offering an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Free parking and a 24-hour front desk are available. Beautiful private beach, really nice stuff, always willing to help. Scooter was rented through the hotel with no poblems. Cooked food was really tasty.

It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

Everything. To start with, the property itself. Absolutely beautiful settings, pool and room. It looks and feel very luxurious and secret, perfect place to relax after a lot of travelling through Sri Lanka. Squirrels running about and lots of colorful birds. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and to help you with your plans. I came to Lagoon Gate to relax, but being my hyperactive self, I was longing for things to do. When asking for a bicycle I was lent one right away and when I asked to visit Mulkirigala cave temple, not only was I provided with a tuktuk and driver in the next hour but a member of staff (Shan) even came with me and I gave me lots of explanations about the temple. I was then taken on a free kayak tour on the lagoon where I could see lots of wildlife. Oh, I had some absolutely delicious seafood at their restaurant. AND one of the best massage I've had in Sri Lanka un their little massage parlor in the gardens. Kind of an endless review, and I was only there for two days ! Just go there with your eyes closed, a must stay in Sri Lanka.

Everything was super, location is quiet, not to much tourist or overcrowd. The reception guy who meet us was super helpfull. Arenge as a lot off things like scooter and breakfast sandwich early in the morning before we leave to safari.

The breakfast was lovely, although they have a limited menu and a small-ish kitchen so they don't have the facilities to make something different everyday. That being said, the staff were super accommodating, if you did request something different. They also had these adorable resident pets - three dogs and a cat - who brought a lot of comfort and joy to our stay. We even got to see monkeys and peacocks hanging around the property.
