United KingdomIf you are in Leon take the time to spend a few days at Las Peñitas at Nuevo NAYAL! It’s stunning and beautifully designed. Everything feels new! The spanish couple who set up this place are so kind and welcoming. They have created a true oasis to escape the heat of the city and I couldn’t have had a better 3 nights stay here to round off my trip in Nicaragua. The food is brilliant as well at the restaurant. I ate all my meals there as they were too good! And the staff went out of their way to help me with laundry and tours etc. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best place to stay in Las Penitas.

On arrival we received such a lovely warm welcome from the owner, the location is great if you love nature , lots of birds , pelicans, hummingbirds and the funny birds that live on site.
We stayed in a cabin in the garden which was fab. Staff were professional and friendly, good breakfasts.
Really close to the beach and other restaurants too.
Loved the dogs and kitty.
Fab place . Would definitely stay again.
