This tour will introduce you to Kochi as a local via transport on a tuk-tuk and the public bus. You'll see several regions with different cultural values and ways of life, such as Saraswat Brahmins, Marwari and Gujarati Brahmins as you traverse through narrow side lanes and thoroughfares.
You'll begin your tour at Vasco da Gama Square and then head to the Chinese fishing nets area where you'll spend 15 minutes watching them operate. Next, you'll head to St. Francis Church to see the first burial site of Vasco da Gama and then head out from Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica by tuk-tuk to Cheralai. Here, you’ll explore the small colony where the Saraswat Brahmins live, which include a temple and market.
You'll then walk from Fort Kochi to Mattancherry's Jewish synagogue and the Dutch Palace, former seat of Kochi royalty.
