On this half-day tour, you’ll experience Aveiro, also known as the Portuguese Venice, and Costa Nova. You’ll have the chance to board a traditional Moliceiro boat and learn about the vessel’s history of transporting seaweed and salt. After a 45-minute boat ride, you’ll go on a walking tour of the city’s main features. Some highlights will include the fisherman’s quarter and Art Nouveau buildings. You’ll have an opportunity to taste a typical dessert of the area, traditional soft eggs. In Barra, you’ll admire the beaches and iconic Aveiro Lighthouse.
You’ll continue the tour in a fishermen’s village called Costa Nova. Here you’ll see picturesque bayside houses painted with different colour stripes and learn about their history.
