If you've even heard of Dickens, Chaucer, Shakespeare, the royal family, Churchill, the world wars - just walking along the streets they walked on is enough to make them and their experiences jump out at you. The fact that most of the tourist attractions' tours (eg: Royal Albert Hall, Churchill War Rooms, Kensington Palace, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Bridge Experience, Westminster Abbey) are all accompanied by audio and include re-enactments mean that your completely drawn in to the experience.

Lancaster London Very good 8.2 Staff went out of their way to show us the bee hives on the roof because we had expressed interest and then took us up to the top of the hotel to show us the view across London, certainly that was extra service.
Britannia International Hotel Canary Wharf Good 7.1 We had a lovely large comfortable room overlooking the water, were very close to the DLR and Underground plus the activity of the interesting Canary Wharf area and surrounds. Preferred the old fashioned comfort and decor to the sleek modern hotels
St Giles London – St Giles Classic Hotel Good 7.6 I liked the staff, they helped me and my friend with any problem or request we had. Also, the location was really great near the Oxford st. and near to an underground station.

The Hoxton, Shoreditch Wonderful 9 I had an issue with the functioning of the hotel's wifi. While I was annoyed by not being able to work for 2 hours, the hotel staff has been very understanding and committed to find a solution as quickly as possible. I received extra treatment as a compensation and a dinner was offered to me to make up for the inconvenience. I can only praise how professional everyone has been in handling the situation.
Ace Hotel London Shoreditch Very good 8.5 Fabulous location. Helpful staff. Great food in the cafe and bar.

Hotels that guests love in London

    • This hotel location really works for me, as I regularly visit an office near Victoria station. It's about 1 minute walk to Victoria, and 15 minutes walk to Big Ben. Staff are really friendly and social. Room is small but contemporary, clean and well thought out. Bed really comfy. I love the cheese and wine 'party' held every evening :o) Great value, excellent hotel in central London. I'll be back...again.

    • Near three tube stops, around the corner from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, and easily reachable from London City Airport, this hotel is extremely convenient for exploring central London. Staff were friendly, rooms small but generally comfortable, and the place overall quiet.

    • We chose a city hotel because we like the location, It can be a fair distance to walk into central london but their are plenty buses not 5 minutes away . When booking i requested a high floor with a view as it was my wifes birthday ,[ You dont ask you don't get.] Surprise, we were upgraded to the top floor with a view of Tower Bridge. The hotel is very nice. The staff could not do enough for you from the doorman ,reception and restaurant staff. 4 Star yes.

    • The hotel is centrally located beside the Tower of London and only 8 miles from London City Airport. The hotel's rooftop bar is worth visiting and boasts great views of London Tower and bridge.

    • The bed was comfortable and the room was really spacious. The hotel is located in a nice district, although it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the nearest train station (Crystal Palace). There is a number of old-fashioned pubs and good-value-for-money restaurants. It takes a 30-50 to get to the city center, but there are direct trains to London Bridge and London Victoria.
