This was a fantastic stay and somewhere different and unique. The accommodation was spacious, warm, clean and cosy! The attention to detail didn’t go a miss; slippers, dressing gowns, breakfast, personal message board and daily restock of essentials such as tea, coffee and fresh towels.

The Hive exceeded our expectations in all regards. We travel frequently and this was among one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Aga was exceedingly helpful, from checking us into our room to serving us at the restaurant. We have never stayed at a place that was so giving with its ammenities. The room had a bountiful mini-bar and the breakfast was superb. The room itself was immaculately clean and well-appointed. It was obvious it was designed with travelers in mind. We especially appreciated the convenient outlets and light switches located on each side of the best. The bathroom was clean, towels luxurious, and bed comfortable. Free parking is available at a public lot a block away from the townhouses. I can’t recommend this property highly enough!!

Everything was excellent, fitted us in at last minute for dinner. An excellent relaxed atmosphere. A wee bonus fresh milk in a tiny fridge for our coffee and tea in the room. Second stay on my way back from down south and will be my stopping off point for future trips to south of England. Recommend the Inn to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at The Shoregate. Breakfast was included with our room charge and it was delicious. We also had dinner one evening and highly recommend it.

The suite’s bathroom is notably luxurious, boasting double sinks and spaciousness that one might expect to find in high-end American homes, adding a touch of opulence to the experience. Dining at the hotel’s on-site restaurant is a culinary delight, with delicious dinner options that cater to a variety of tastes, ensuring a satisfying end to our day. The convenience of free, easy, and ample parking accommodates guests with any car size, removing any parking hassles from the equation and making the arrival and departure process as smooth as possible.

A beautifully presented family-run B & B that gives you all the privacy you want or engagement with other travelers in the well-appointed common areas. Funnily enough, they get quite a few bookings and then cancellations from Australian travelers who mistakenly think they were booking for Torquay, Victoria, Australia rather than on the Devon Coast, UK. The family is delightful with dad being an excellent chef (breakfast eggs benedict was cooked perfectly), mum was so hospitable with great directions and suggestions with our walk to the harbor front and dinner, and the daughter who looked after us with checking in and at breakfast was just a breath of fresh air (good luck with your uni studies). I would definitely stay there again but this time for a few more days so we could take advantage of that inviting-looking swimming pool.

Very upscale with a quaint feel. Breakfast was delicious and we both really enjoyed our dinner there also. Walking around the estate was both beautiful and peaceful watching the lambs run around. The rain boots were available for loan if the grounds are wet/ muddy.

This was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were elegant and spotless. The food was exceptional, and the Executive Lounge was a huge plus making our stay comfortable and extremely enjoyable.

the castle was very nicely renovated the room was modern and inviting. Breakfast was excellent
