For example the tables in the breakfast room had white starched tablecloths. The location is perfect - about 7 mins walk from the station with the old town just beyond (a treasure trove for Bach lovers). It was very quiet with a beautiful view from the Bachaus nearby. I had mistakenly booked for only one person but someone came specially on his day off to deliver both clothes and towels. The hotel is from a different age, like all good hotels, and they make the best of it. I also loved the location a quick walk from the station. The apartment was huge, clean and comfortable. All kitchen appliances are high-end brands. Also, the view from the balcony was amazing. Superb, highly recommend.

Also within easy reach was the Hainich Nationalpark, an area of outstanding beauty. When you look for a combination of cultural highlights and great nature, this is the place to be.
