Set in Versailles and within 14 km of Keeneland Race Course, The Woodford Hotel features barbecue facilities, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. We loved the living space. It was very attractively decorated. And was set up with easy access to whatever we needed. Very comfortable! Also great location…we were able to wander around and enjoy the lovely historic town.

Featuring pool with a view, shared lounge and views of lake, Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is located in Hawkins, 48 km from Lake Barkley State Park. We stayed 2 different nights, one on the way up to Wisconsin and once on the way home. While the first stay was better than the second, there were several things that could have gone better. The cabins have steep steps you have to navigate to get to you cabin, some are worse than others. When I made the reservations, I told them we had a special needs adult, you would think they would make sure she wouldn't have the steepest climbs, nope. Also, the walls of the cabins are wood and the cabins are cute, but they really needed a good dusting. There several items that didn't work either. Plug in the bathroom at one and the phone in the second. The can opener also did not work. Good thing we brought one! Most everyone was pleasant but I think the entire restaurant staff were mad during the second night. Overall, pleasant enough. Sadly, we likely won't be back.

Had a variety of items and even though they said thy were short staffed, we still were waited in a timely matter. All the staff, front desk and all were very friendly.
