Room was very small as was the bathroom.
Room was very small as was the bathroom. Handy open early cafe directly across road (careful crossing). Acceptable short stay but had better considering room rate is at the top end of Motel charges.

Lovely spot, great beaches and parks.
Lovely spot, great beaches and parks. Beautiful spot on the river. Has a wide variety of places to eat. Fish and Chip shop, Deep Sea Delights is amazing. Food is fresh, staff so friendly and great prices. Just a perfect spot for a half way stop on my road trip from home to family. Walking along the river is so relaxing and the people so friendly

The hosts were very helpful and friendly.
The unit had been thoughtfully rennovated using modern appliances (inluding a coffe machine) but had preserved some history, leaving the patterned bathroom tiles., a nice touch 🙂 Also, the motel is close to a electric fast charging station so a great stopping place for e-car drivers.

It was easy enough to check in at the pub next door. It's behind a launderette, or my room was, so no noise from the main road. Then I discovered that literally across the street, was a path through a park and down along the river, much nice to get into town that way then walk along the busy motorway / main street. Great check in and very friendly staff. I visited the local art gallery, a few blocks away, which I would definitely recommend.
The location suited us, low road noise. Our room was clean. Queen bed only in the room so not a huge room but there was only the two of us. Limited hanging space for clothes if needed, rung above the microwave. No other robe space. Shower water pressure was fabulous and wonderful temperature.
As a point of interest, the key is collected from the bar at the hotel next door, Manning River Hotel. Staff are lovely and food was great for lunch.
Birches is a welcoming stopover in Taree for our drive on the Pacific Highway. This is our third stay at Birches. Ken and Mark are outstanding and inclusive hosts who provide an excellent standard of accomodation from a secure, cosy, tastefully decorated ensuited room with extremely comfortable bed and lovely touches from bottled water and choccies to a hearty breakfast and homemade shortbread to pack us on our way in the morning.
The hosts provided a lot of 'extras'. There was a range of pantry items, candles and an essential oil diffuser, electric blanket on the bed for those chilly nights and plenty of books and magazines. The apartment had a very cozy feel and was lovely to return to at the end of a long day at work. So much nicer than a hotel room! The communication from the hosts was clear and timely.
Our room was excellent - nice and quiet so we had a great night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. The pub across the road, recommended by the owners, was an easy walk and served great meals. The crockery and cutlery provided for breakfast was a welcome surprise. We would definitely stay here again
Room was very comfortable. They had gone to some effort in room decor and presentation. Well located with pub across the road that served amazing food - I recommend the duck and the bbq seafood! Staff were friendly and informative - recommended pub! Motel had a destination charger. Taree is a gorgeous little town.
We were given a room facing the river that also had a verandah area outside which was great, with Views to river and bridge. The hotel is within walking distance of the Main Street, a number of pubs and take aways and the boat club. Reasonable price compared to other accomodation in the area.
last min booking, staff rung to let me know as a courtesy, to say I’d accidentally booked twice. Very kind, I thought. Until he said gotcha… Yes, they did. It must happen regularly due to poor internet service traveling between Sydney and Taree. Wouldn’t refund the second room.
The BnB was exquisite and the host was exceptional both in service and personality. A perfect BnB environment with a superb breakfast offered and an informative host to direct us to the points of interest in the Taree region.
The staff were lovely and let me have a late check out and still use the pool facilities.
I usually travel and live in Thailand but for Taree it was a good place to stay.
Our stay was short yet sweet and should we ever have the need to visit Taree again and require accommodation, we will be sure to contact the motel again.
