Nice city. People are generally friendly & helpful. A lady staff at the town hall station was extremely helpful when we reached the station at night for direction to the castlereagh hotel on 30/11/17. Public servants in particular are primely important to make a difference for all tourist. Public servants are usually the first line of contact for any visitor to a new country. The gentleman who checked us in at the castlereagh hotel on the night of our arrival on 30/11/17 was extremely helpful and efficient in getting us into our room. He is a cheerful lot each day when we meet him at the front desk. Hotel is very clean and convenient. Hotel has a self service laundry facility at no extra charge, very useful. Room is a little small though, but, the service and efficiency of the staffs made it up to all. Kudos 💪🏼Castlereagh.. will return at the next opportunity. F&B, supermarket & shopping are all close by. However, the shops close very early, making it rather boring if one prefers to shop than drink or party! Luckily, the supermarket WOOLWORTHS closes at 10pm and that is a bonus for us. We love Woolloomooloo Darlinghurst, rushcutters bay, Pitts point and barangaroo.. each has its charm and flavour! Interesting architecture skyline too.
Best place to stay for the view of Sydney harbour is the North Sydney Harbour View, great public transport at your door, great walking/running tracks especially over the Harbour Bridge. Good comfortable accommodation in and around the city if you want to be right in the action with an average price of $150 AUD, you can pay more and I would if I was staying for more then a few days but if your there for the night life go cheaper as your only in the room to sleep. The down side is if you drive even though you pay good money for your accommodation you will also be hit with an average $25 per day for parking, I feel that should be included in the price. Down side is NSW still have the lock out laws so you need to find a good place you like before 0100h. Good idea if you want to be escorted around is to jump onto OZ Party buses and they will take you out for dinner, move you around on a Disco bus to experience up to 4 night clubs or pub depending on the party bus you jump on. During the day you can jump on the ferry to manly and walk to the Spit Bridge then bus it up to Military road and down to the zoo and make your way to the bottom of the zoo and catch the ferry back to the CBD, shower change and hit the many bars and Restaurants in and around the Rock or Opera house. If your after a great hassle free night out without the thugs hit the Newtown gay friendly area where everyone is there to party and meet new people. I found this area to be so friendly and safe to walk around. Great food as well!!!!
The Rocks is my favourite place. Such an old worldly atmosphere and great little pubs such as Fortune O' War to visit. I have had dinner a couple of times at the Munich (aka Lowenbrau) which is a German restaurant with great food. The pork knuckle is the best! If you would like a more quiet intimate setting there are a couple of restaurants down at Walsh Bay on the wharf. The new Barangaroo Park is a great place to have a picnic and it is a licensed park so you can take a few beverages and soak in the amazing sights of the Harbour Bridge, Balmain Wharf, Darling Harbour, Luna Park and the list goes on. There is a pub/hotel at Millers Point called Hotel Palisade. If your looking for a quirky 'not the run of the mill' place to stay then this is it.
For the 2 day period whilst in Sydney, our negotiated tariff accommodation at the ADINA HOTEL was central & key to our requirements, in that public transport adequately catered to our transportation needs within the CBD. A multitude of eateries to cater to those with empty pockets, & to those with bulging pockets, a cross section of world wide dishes to choose from, all within walking distances of your accommodation if you have based yourself within the CBD. Again, if based in the CBD, it is extremely easy to get around Sydney, & all within casual waking distances. If attending Concerts in the heart of Sydney, again all within walking distances. If attending sporting functions, & you are residing in the CBD, again no problem, as the variety of transportation is on hand & available. The hotel concierge will be your best contact to provide this information.
Hotel was basic, it's not a hotel!! It's a uni campus! Flat had everything you wanted. I shared with my brother, two rooms, open planned living room/kitchen. Cleaners did the basic empty bins and change bedding if you requested it and had to request they hoovered als, it was every 2-3rd the first week j was there the second week I think I seen them once. Balcony - no sun what's so ever and was always in the shade and the view was another building so to be honest I'd have rather had a different room with a better balcony ( I'm from the uk so first time visiting Australia and your told you have a room with a balcony but you got my balcony lol) but anyway buses are regular and right outside. If you fancy a walk ladies to the stores for shopping you can walk an hour to the nearest mall or you can get a bus takes 10 min. Buses to and for the city are regular too. I loved Sydney and I liked the apparetment also over all!
Favourite place had to be kiama, the air, the view, incredible atmosphere, beautiful town. Dined at a restaurant by Sydney opera House, exquisite, 5 star service. But if your on a budget paddy's market is good to. Public transportation leads to alot of the hotspots in Sydney, even from the opera house u can catch a ferry to darling harbour and else where, well priced to. Only regrets was not paying the little bit extra for a more recent hotel. All day out and about, u need to sleep and revive in comfort.. Unfortunately I chose the wrong accommodation.

The suites are very comfortable and big (compared to what you’ll get in CBD). Also comes with a well equipped kitchen (pots, pans, dishwasher, microwave) and a washer & dryer. It isn’t in CBD but the train station is a 2-3 min walk away and goes straight to the main stops (Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Airport). Nearby there are cafes and a huge supermarket, which is really convenient. The rooms are clean and everyone at the hotel were very helpful.

Everything you need and nothing you don't. Parking $20 per night reasonable for syd airport, and you can leave it there 7 nights. New bathroom very nice and practical, and pillow choices in room. Free electronic scales to weigh your luggage in reception which I haven't seen anywhere else ever, even in 5 star hotels. Shuttle to airport starts at 5 am and I was checking in by 5.15 am (shuttle tickets at reception for $6.)

The hotel is clean and tidy, pretty fancy. Room facilities are excellent, there’s even a free smartphone to use around. Bed is so comfortable that it might be the most relaxed sleeps I’ve ever had among all my trips. Location’s great for sightseeing, close to a lot of tourist sites ( 5 min to Darling Harbour, 20 to Sydney Opera House). Shopping malls are right under the building. Perfect place to stay in Sydney.

A good location to get access to Sydney CBD, Botanic Garden, and habour within 20 mins walk. And only 5 min walk to Kings Cross station, with some lovely little restaurants like Chinese and Thai nearby, cheap and yum. I think price, location and free Brekky are the reasons for this hotel to be a choice. Receptionist helps a lot with getting around, and they have free map and more information in the room.

Brand new with fantastic decor. Comfy bed and spacious rooms. Staff were helpful and always pleasant. Plenty of supermarkets and places to get coffee up the road. Not too much in the way of restaurants but they do have a pub next door and offer a selection of place that deliver food to the property. A short 5-10 min drive to the airport terminal. It’s definitely one of the nicer airport hotels.

One of the best hotels in the city. We wanted to get away from the corporate 5 stars and try something different. If you want a boutique hotel QT is for you. Our overseas friend was just as impressed by us. If you travel a lot for work and stay in the usual hotels this is a great alternative. Rooms are spacious and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Location is great right in the CBD.

Co-located and sharing services with the Novotel and Pullman Hotels at Sydney Olympic Park, this Ibis Hotel is directly across the road from the stadiums. Parking is expensive but comparable with other sites in Sydney. The parking guys did an amazing job fitting in so many cars the night we were there (for a Pink concert). The rooms are clean, comfortable and well set up for short stays.

The property was delightfully located on Potts Point. There were plenty of restaurants and grocery/bottle shops in the area. We enjoyed our daily walk around the neighborhood and found the walk downtown to be easy and enjoyable. From our 5th floor room we had a beautiful view of the CBD and part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Being in the CBD and short walk to bus and a great train station. I particularly like the hassle free and quick commute to the airport by direct train service. I was concerned about shared bathroom but once I got used to it in just one day, I actually found it great as it was always available and clean.
7.5 Good 3,016 reviews
The property was very accessible to the whole Sydney CBD, not to mention it is a minute walk to the Museum Station which has direct airportlink. The price is a bit expensive but given the accessibility and comfort, I would still recommend it. Free continental breakfast was also great!

Just 3 stops away from Sydney international airport through Green Line. New and clean hotel. I love the room and the free bread breakfast and overflowing coffee. Thank you Bupeesh for lending me an outlet adaptor! You guys deserve 5 star from me! 😄

I have stayed in the CBD quite frequently and this is one of the better hotels. It is in a central location, close to Central station and only a short walk to George Street, QVB and Darling Harbour.

Great location, very convenient to everything you want. Walking distance to Darling Harbour and Fish market. The room size is small, but considering the hotel is in CBD, it's acceptable.
