An interesting city, great mix of old and new. Well suited to the many tourists with lots of attractions worth visiting. The opera house is a must visit (do the tour) as well as the hop on and off bus tour. If you like walking it is a very walkable city.

The public transport system is excellent - from the airport into the city only took 15 to 20 minutes by train. The Manly Beach and the coastal walks, as well as Blue Mountain are all within walking distance from the train station. We will visit again!

For what we paid we defiantly think it was really lovely.

For what we paid we defiantly think it was really lovely. We would give it a 3 star as a hotel. But there was nothing wrong, just a few things were dated. Sydney is so easy to get around, ferrys, buses, trains, trams; just use your debit card to hop on and off. Heaps of food options around and around the hotel which was great too.

We aren't a fan of Sydney but only because we aren't city people. We prefer the country. We stayed merely as a stop over prior to international travel. Great dining options though and shopping galore. Easy to navigate around the city.

Sydney is without doubt one of the finest cities in the world. The modern downtown architecture is awe inspiring and beautiful. A walk to The Rocks is a must to savour old town Sydney. From there you can take in the magnificence of the harbour bridge and the Opera House. Getting around is so easy and as I was staying at the Ridges Hotel, if I got weary, I could just hop on the Tap on Tap off train to Central and back to my hotel.

Thanks to Alex and John for being nice to us. The place is value for money. It is a good location. 2 train stations away to the CBD. What I like is the character of this hotel with its old stuff. The lift is the old lift with railing and wooden door. It is working properly. Our room had a working induction cooker, complete cooking utensils. You can always ask the reception if you need something. The reception is working like an office hours. So better ask them within these hours if you need something.
