Meriton Suites Herschel Street, Brisbane, hotel in Brisbane

Just 100 metres from the Brisbane River, Meriton Suites Herschel Street, Brisbane offer modern self-contained accommodation with a flat-screen TV. Guests enjoy unlimited free WiFi at the property.

This property is in a great location. We attended Suncorp and it was an easy walk if you are used to getting about on foot. Not far at all. We loved the proximity to the mall and ferry stop. We wandered around and enjoyed lots of incidental exercise handy for an older couple (65 and 71) The apartment is clean and comfortable and great for making our own breakfast before venturing out to the many attractions. The staff are very friendly and obliging. We always find this at all Meritons around Australia. It’s a great convenient place to stay in Brisbane close to all transport.

Meriton Suites Adelaide Street, Brisbane, hotel in Brisbane

Located in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD (Central Business District), Meriton Suites Adelaide Street, Brisbane offer 74 levels of spacious suites with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The apartment was incredible, great facilities for cooking and doing laundry. Large spacious living area with a well sized dining table which was fantastic. The furniture and bed were very comfortable, and the whole place was really clean. The gym was fairly limited but really good for a hotel gym, and the pool and jacuzzi were lovely to visit in the evenings.

FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

    Brisbane is overpriced.

Brisbane is overpriced. CBD is a mess at the moment with construction sites everywhere. The restaurants are expensive, though there are some very high quality establishments emerging there. South Bank is a great place for families and couples alike. Best part of the CBD. Howard Smith Wharves are noisy and over rated although there are some great places to eat there. Public transport is unpredictable, People are friendly and the weather is the best. West End, is a great place, diverse, lots of great places to eat and a community vibe. Easy to walk around CBD and South Brisbane. CBD feels safe but needs a complete uplift, very quiet.

This accommodation is perfect if you want to walk the city of Brisbane. You have easy access to the river, the botanical garden, Southbank and the CBD. You can walk as far as you want, and use city cats to go even further. A comfortable if older hotel, but the staff are friendly and professional and the facilities are good.
