We went to spend time with family.
We went to spend time with family. The venue was not right in the heart of anywhere in particular so we were reliant on our daughter to come and take us places. Ended up being at the mercy of what she wanted to do. If you're gonna do this get in your preferences in what you'd like to do and make it clear right at the beginning. For example I wanted to go to the Botanic Gardens but daughter wanted to take us up the mountains. I didn't do well in the back seat, the roads were very windy, so it ended up not being as enjoyable as intended.

Absolutely love the Gold Coast, so much to do and see, it’s the only place we go to for holidays, Hate having to leave and go home, but we also need lovely clean appartments, not dirty filthy and mold, going out to my favourite place to eat called Longboards, sell the best burgers, chips and drinks, they are amazing so beautiful itting around the huge pool in booths, there’s the tram for traveling to clubs and going into the main shopping places, and going to the Gold Coast show was awesome so many rides,

I find Cairns a great place to visit, it's easy going, can walk around safely I believe.
Plenty to see in the city and great day trips available.
Good walking paths on Esplanade with plenty of facilities, ie cafes, drinking fountains, bbq's, showers and toilets.
The nearby Cock and Bull pub is a great spot with top meals.

Port Douglas was a beautiful place to stay, very relaxing. Easy to walk around, if needing to go out for day trips, coaches were easy to organise. Plenty of places to eat at, Paddy's & Tin Shed had great food & music. Billy Tea day tour to Daintree was great. Sailaway Sunset cruise was fun.

Some nice boutique shops, hairdresser(s) and nail artist shops, plenty food choices but not overly healthy options and quite pricey (and I'm from Sydney!). Outlets selling Island boat trips were very helpful.

Noosa Heads is a great location with easy walking access both to Noosa Main Beach/Hastings Street and Noosaville. It's quieter than both areas but there is a shop for everyday needs, cafe and restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner at Ricky's River Bar and Restaurant (https://secure.booking.com/locationreview.en-us.html?aid=2378099&sid=5a88f569bb5173a3b627e38404b0be6b&city_recommend=1&entry_point=1&from_confirmation=1&review_invitation_id=305c0b1f11164fdba3e1cff54c479865&traveller_type=young%20couple&&coming_from=reviewsubmitted) which has fabulous food and a lovely laid-back vibe. Our only mistake was not arriving early enough to enjoy the magnificent view!
Had several enjoyable walks along the river stopping for lunch at Gympie Terrace where you are spoilt for choice of places.

We mainly came for some whale watching, but had some very nice meals in the area and Enzos was perfect for an afternoon drink to watch the sunset and have a lovely meal.
Lots of different spots/villages around the bay to find a cafe or restaurant.

Beautiful 2 mile stretch of beach with palm trees providing shade! The water is calmer and perfect for families! The sand is smooth and soft and you could spend the entire day there with no worries. Lifeguards are on duty and provide guidelines for swimming. There are restaurants lining the esplanade.
