This would mean we would miss the breakfast time completely and upon hearing this, the staff offered to prepare two breakfast boxes for us to bring along! The location is really very good, it's just next to the Esplanade and there are lots of restaurants available.

The best time to visit Cairns is after March, during the dry season. Adventure sports are better in in dry weather and rains can be avoided after March. If you plan to visit Rainforest (Daintree and Cape tribulation) please avoid rainy season. You hardly chance to see any wildlife. Overall Kuranda, and Reef visit are must do when you are at Cairns.
I adore Cairns, lush, green and vibrant. The only downside is that is can be pricey buying basics if you self cater. Eating out is also not cheap so be prepared to spend over $100 a day on food if travelling as a couple. Rusty's markets and roadside food stalls (water melon, pumpkin and seasonal fruits) are one way to curb spending and you feel good supporting local farmers. It's a great base to go further and explore Mission Beach, Port Douglas, Atherton and Mareeba if you still need to be close to banks etc. The overall attitude of Cairns is changing, it used to be very kick back and relaxed with everybody calling out "hello" with a cheery smile to you in the street. Sadly this doesn't happen now but the beautiful lush surrounds and abundance of wildlife not in zoos remains.
We enjoyed our Cairns holiday - we were in Cairns for 4.5 days, and we went on day trips and reef cruise/s. If one is ready to accept that Cairns can be quite warm and even humid during the time of our visit (we visited in the month of February, '19), Cairns is a place worth visiting, what with the Rainforest, the local attractions, the Mossman River/Gorge cruise, and of course, the Great Barrier Reef, and many more.
We like Caurns very much. We walked on the sea front and used the communal lagoon overlooking the sea. We went on the Skyrail and loved it. Also the Bitsnical gardens were worth a visit as we saw a rainbow tree which we had never seen before. We would like to return to go on a trip on the reef to snorkel another time.
For us Cairns was the ideal hub especially day trips. It is advisable to rent a car to enable you to drive up to Port Douglas, visit the The Cathedral Tree, excellent snokelling and dive tours . Try Passion 3 for a more intimate trip out to the outer reef and excellent staff.
Barron Falls were magnificent after the rain, and also visited Paronella Park, well worth the trip. I noticed that Cairns is a very clean city, the people of the Far North obviously take a bit of Pride in the environment. Will be back to visit again.
Everything, but mostly the staff & location. Valter at reception was genuinely accommodating and always good for a laugh everytime we came into reception. The location is perfectly central with amazing panoramic views of the esplanade if you book an ocean spa room. The room itself was imaculant, comfortable, spacious and romantic. This hotel had everything we wanted & needed during our five night stay. Next time we decide to defrost our Tasmanian bones in the warm cairns sun we know exactly where we will book!!
The staff were amazing! Everyone was incredibly helpful (and honest!) when it came to booking tours and things to do around Cairns. They were also always up for a chat and made you feel very welcome and like family. They had organized events some nights so you could go out and enjoy the nightlife, but the hostel itself was not a party hostel so you could easily sleep. I had a great time here and wish I had been able to stay longer!
Location is great - not right in the craziness of town but close enough to walk. Even if you don’t want to walk they provide a free shuttle bus to the city centre! Incredibly clean facilities, I think I saw them clean bathrooms twice a day as well as daily clean in the rooms. Staff was super helpful whenever I had questions about my stay or future travels!! I’ll be back for sure next time I’m in cairns :)
Everything!! Brilliant scenic views of the harbour/marina.Fantastic location to restaurants & Boardwalk. Beautiful layout of the apartment, very comfortable and roomy. Comfortable bed and great kitchen and laundry facilities. Exceptional customer service by all staff at Cairns Luxury Apartments, made us feel very welcoming throughout our stay. Look forward to coming back ! Highly Recommend.
Very close to the Esplanade and in a well-lit tourist area. The siamese cat in the lobby was adorable and Glenda was so helpful in recommending activities and even helped me print a last-minute pass for an activity. She upgraded my room for free before I arrived and gave me a map of the city. The place is very clean and bright. When I’m back in Cairns this is going to be my go-to accommodation.
The front desk agent the night we checked in was very welcoming! We hadn't intended on staying in Cairns this night but we're flooded out from out intended location. We booked the room online and was at the hotel 10 minutes later, the agent was expecting us and made the an otherwise stressful night a lot better for us by being really welcoming!
Very friendly staff, spacious, clean and convenient room, kitcherette and bathroom, lots of shares facilities in a sheltered area, gave sense of privacy. The pool is lot of fun for adults and kids. Not sure, why this is a 2* hotel, stayed in 3* in Cairns...infintiely worse. Put a hairdryer and upgrade yourselves!
Awesome location, right at the start of the restaurant and cafe strip of the Esplanade, next door to the Casino and across the road from the swimming lagoon. The balcony room that I was given had a great view out over the ocean and the city of Cairns which looked beautiful at night.
This hotel was close to the city, Botanic Gardens and Esplanade. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was superb for dinner and breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. Highly recommended.
I loved the location of the hotel. Everything on the Esplanade was in walking distance. The staff were very helpful with any questions or if directions were needed. The breakfast was spot on. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Location to airport. Large room : pool We chose this hotel as our flight was departing very early. Suitable for what we required and onsite parking was available.
Good stay close to esplanade, airport and shops. I arrived in late and hotel had made arrangements for me to pick up room key etc.
Nicely renovated apartment on the esplanade in Cairns, close to all the bars, restaurants and the marina for tourist activities.
10 minute taxi ride from the airport, close to everything in Cairns, spacious and clean room. Recommended!
Good location near Cairns airport. Easy access from parking. Large cosy rooms with cooking facilities.
Good size apartments. Short walk to the Cairns City centre and the waterfront. Great for families.
The location of the hotel was perfect. Within walking distance to everything in the city area.
