Salento is picturesque with colorful houses and beautiful interiors, located in the mountains and with a valley that is one of the main entrances to the high "nevados". Everything in Salento is about coffee, art, nature, birds and hiking. The best time to visit Salento is outside of the high season for a truly relax experience.

Salento is the perfect place to relax, I recommend Casa Willis for lunch, amazing food and beverages.
It also has some nice hotels to stay with a very good breakfast included, we liked Casaboutique Hotel, the staff is super friendly, clean and peaceful hotel, comfortable rooms and outstanding breakfast with an amazing view! 10/10!

The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there.
The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there. This was the main reason we went and due to heavy rains or something along those lines, the road was damaged and not accessible by the Willy trucks. So everyone in line was turned away and told it was closed. Salento is very salesy - Filandia is a similar vibe with all of the painted houses but a bit less sales oriented. Would have stayed in Filandia and visited Salento for the day instead.
Coffee excursion was enjoyable.

Beautiful, colorful and lively town that preserves the architecture, traditions and flair of Colombia's coffee region. The place welcomes everyone , solo travelers, couples, families, etc. It offers a good variety of activities, ranging from strolling around the town to mountain trekking, from tours at coffee farms to fine handcrafts shopping, from dining traditional dishes to international cuisine. I recommend visiting this town to everyone.

I was pleased we chose to stay in Salento rather than at an outlying hacienda. Salento was very crowded with tourists/travelers but the town plaza was our favorite place to be in the mornings/evenings. Our two favorite restaurants were Juan Esteban (on the square) and Betatown. Both had very good food and service.

A cute, colourful town near the stunning Valle de Cocora, which is the main reason to visit. The coffee tours are a bit touristy, but it’s a good vibe. Be sure to play “tejos” and have a few beers at Los Amigos.
The apartment is modern and just around the corner of the plaza.
We stayed at multiple places in Salento and this is one of the best options we took. It’s spacious, big bedroom with a great bed which is important to us.
The living room is spacious with a kitchen and refrigerator. Big TV with fast internet. The bathroom
has hot water with a rain shower.
Around the corner there is a pizza place to grab some Italian food and the Willie jeeps are around the corner as well.
Great location for a great price. The Host is very responsive!
The hotel is simply beautiful, the grounds, the rooms everything is breathtaking. But what makes it even better is the service they provide. They really make you feel at home and try to accommodate whatever you need. They were giving us rides to Salento, but also let us check in early and check out late.
You would think yourself in a 5* hotel!
Thanks again to Maria for welcoming us in your beautiful hotel! We stayed 3 nights but could definitely have stayed a few more days!
I really loved the jacuzzi, the included 30 minutes massage was so relaxing, me and my partner got an amazing experience in the hotel, Salento is a pretty good place to visit, and if I come back to Colombia, definitely I will return to Coclí, all the environment was amazing as the staff, and I really enjoyed all the time that I spent in Coclí, was a very intimate time with my partner, and I strongly recommend the author's cocktail
We liked the rustic farm experience compared to staying in Salento. The eco hotel was also very close to the wax palm trees of Valle de Cocora. We got to milk a cow! We had rented a car as we heard the gravel road up to the property was bumpy and some transport won’t go up there. We saw other guests use classic Jeep Willyz as transport. The Chandelier Pine tree is a landmark destination in itself. Lots of birds, too!
Our stay at Kawa was a delightful experience. The host was truly amazing - very attentive and flexible, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rooms were spacious and offered unrivalled and incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Additionally, the hotel's location was perfect, just a short 10-minute walk to Salento, making it convenient to explore the town. The breakfast choices were also delicious and varied.
This hotel was wonderful! The room was spacious, very well decorated, the bathroom was great with a hot shower and great pressure just like at home, the staff was very helpful, giving us tips on what to do during our days in Salento... and the best of all, breakfast! In addition to being immense quantity and diversity, everything was great and fresh!
My advice, stay in Hotel Terrazas de Salento!!
Very good location right in Salento off the main plaza. We were originally meant to stay at another hotel that was a 10 min drive from town but glad we switched here at the last minute. Rooms were simple, clean, and comfortable. Worth paying a little more for a room for a balcony. The little parking lot was great so we didn't have to worry about public parking. Helpful and kind staff.
The host, Mario and his wife, are LOVELY people. Really welcomed us like family, made nice scrambled egg breakfast each day and always helpful with tips on what to do in Salento. They helped organise a coffee tour and taxi to the airport too, and sorted us out for laundry :)
Place was very close to the jeeps and the tejo bar (fun!), walking distance to main plaza.
Good warm showers.
Camillo was an exceptional host and gave us some great recommendations and even drove us in and out of Salento town when he could. Breakfast was very tasty and staff were very friendly :) the bed was very comfortable and the hotel was situated in a beautiful spot on the hill just outside the town. We Loved Mila the hotel dog too :) Highly recommend.
Cute hotel but when we come back we will definitely stay closer to town.
This hotel is good for a relax stay away from noise and people. Not what we wanted in this trip.
Salento town is so beautiful we would have preferred to be able to walk around and have the ability to go out for dinner and drinks.
This hotel exceeded our expectations! The bed was so incredibly comfy, and the staff was super nice and helpful.
The hotel location is perfect, just one block off the square, great for catching the Willys to Cocora Valley.
We’ll come back to Hotel Salento Plaza in a heartbeat.
The walking distance from the hotel to the Main Plaza was perfect. Not too close to being bothered by the tourist and not too long of a walk. It is a safe place to move around. The locals are Salento"s main asset. This hotel will add beautifully to your travel experience.
Absolutely Fantastic stay in Salento, Casa Quinta is a Beautiful hotel. Fernando the owner is the heart & Soul of this place. Such a lovely Gentleman! He made our stay even more better.. Breakfast was delicious.
Location is good!
Even thought the location at night was kind of confusing. Well that’s what you have to expect cause is not a hotel so I was good about it. The view😍 and at night you can see the Milky Way! The place was really confortable.
Super cute little hotel in the heart of Salento. Very clean and comfy. Really good breakfast (fresh fruit, eggs and bread) served by the most adorable lady. Cristina, the owner, has great advice for travelers.
