Friendly welcome and excellent service
We couldn't fault it
Only two night stay but enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in room 1 & it was a good size, clean & homely. Had everything we needed/wanted. We wanted an evening meal & they were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction, all within walking distance so could leave the car at the b & b. The breakfast was very good & plenty of it. Would definitely go back or recommend.
Nothing caused us a problem. If I was being picky the only thing I would say is that the bathroom was very compact.
Everything! Phil and Ali were always friendly and very helpful. We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food was superb- a fantastic choice of so many things. The fresh fruit salad - full of delicious fruit- was marvellous and the cooked breakfast was lovely! Ali had made the most lovely orange marmelade- which I shall miss!!
There was absolutely nothing that we didn`t like!
Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Comfy beds, excellent power shower, very clean. Would book in again whenever we we over that way again.
Wi Fi could be a bit hit and miss
Lovely people and room light and airy with a great bathroom. Fab breakfast and a fantastic location wonderful x
Friendly, comfortable, good breakfast & great location. Would definitely return.
Made to feel so welcome it was home away from home. What a wonderful family. Breakfast was excellent nothing was too much trouble. We are already planning our next trip here.
Cleanliness, comfortable bed and being able to walk into town
Small room for two, wifi variable
Perfect location, within walking distance to city centre and famous attractions. My wife and I were made to feel very welcome, even though we arrived well before the official check in time. Our room number 4 was very spacious, superbly decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We chose this guest house because of it's reviews and were not disappointed with our choice. The breakfast was lovely and we will certainly return here whenever we are in the area.
We only stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer.
Acorn lodge is an excellent B&B, well located for all the facilities in Harrogate. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet; a great bonus for us. The breakfast was outstanding; lots of choice and freshly cooked;possibly the best English breakfast ever! We only met Phil, the proprietor and he was very friendly and professional at the same time. We would definitely go back!
One downside was the size of the en-suite, very small and the sink was difficult to use because of its size and position
Acorn Lodge is a little gem. Blissfully quiet in spite of being close to the heart of the city. Pretty, cosy and homely with warm, welcoming, helpful staff - even the dog is friendly! Highly recommended.
What's not to like?
Everything great, except ...
... the mixer in the shower doesn't work well. The water pressure is good, but I couldn't get properly hot water other than from the basin tap.
My friend from Denmark stayed here and said 'I feel like a queen!' Room was beautiful, warm welcome and lovely breakfast.
everything. clean, comfortable and very pleasant host.
The location was perfect and room was very comforatble, lovely breakfast too! We had car problems and Phil was so helpful, got us fixed up with a garage who managed to repair our car, as we were travelling back home the next day.
Fantastic location - few mins walk to conference centre and about 10 mins to town centre. Lola, the charming, smiley waitress at breakfast ;)
Great location lovely room, great breakfast, fantastic service from Philip and his lovely daughter Lola who served us breakfast, well done Lola.
Nothing it was lovely
Great family run B&B. very friendly people and an excellent breakfast.
Great place to stay very friendly good breakfast great location
The couple who run the place are friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and had everything I needed. The shower was hot and fairly powerful and the bed was firm but comfortable. the breakfast was very yummy and served in a timely fashion. Parking outside was easy and I had a nice stay.
For me who is a light sleeper I would have liked better blackout from heavier curtains but that is just me. The rest was very good.
close to centre, and yet very quiet
Rooms lovely.. Stayed in room 4, fab large bay window. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast fantastic, will definately stay again
In short, this is an EXCELLENT guest house. The location is fantastic being on a quiet, leafy street at the end of a cul-de-sac where there is no through traffic, yeet is within easy walking distance of the town center. The host is very friendly and welcoming and attends to your every need with a cheerful demeanor. The hotel is tastefully decorated, the showers are good and most important of all, they have not skimped on the quality of the beds which are extremely comfortable and our double was a generous width - not always the case with British guest houses. All in all, we could not have been happier with our stay. We highly recommend this establishment to any traveller passing through Harrogate.
The WiFi signal in our room was a bit weak. They could probably do with putting in a secondary router to serve the upper floor.
