Value and location
Location and room and really nice friendly room/cleaning staff x
A little bit disappointed upon arrival as a smoking room was not allocated, although I made an explicit request upon booking. However is was soon sorted.
Very central for shopping and very close to new street station.
Hotel is a bit dated.
Great location.lovely old features. The bed linen etc was well laundered. There was a bath and shower.
The edges of the carpets were dusty there was cobwebs on the ceiling.Whilst the day to cleaning seems adequate,it needs deep cleaning of corners and edges.Bed too small.
The bathroom was awful and extremely dirty. There was silverfish in the bath. Broken glass on the bedroom floor. The down button on the lift did not work. The remote for the tv did not work
not a lot
Rude staff no manners very poor all round
The location of this hotel is excellent. If you are looking for a central location, very close to New St, The Bull Ring, main shopping areas, rail stations, cafes, restaurants, museums and sight-seeing spots etc. it's ideal.
While the bed/sheets were clean and comfortable the room and bathroom were less so. The corners of the bathroom were dirty and the taps very old and shabby. The toilet flush handle didn't work very well. The radiator in room was stuck on a very warm temperature and was difficult/impossible to turn off or down. Our room was on the 7th floor but there was a lot of noise from people talking loudly outside late at night (we think it might have been from a 'smoking area' as there was also a strong smell of cigarettes in the room. The staff varied from unfriendly to rude and the common areas/hallway/stairs/lifts were also shabby and unclean.
This hotel needs to sort out parking and a good revamp. Rooms were dirty and horrible. Will never stay here again
Location and price
Dated. Terrible televisions, alleyway entrance and bad food.
Very loud street+very thin walls, I don't think I could have slept if I wasn't very tired. The hotel has a policy against guests eating thier food in the hotel which I find irritating as I had no interest in the hotel food. No wi-fi and the reception were we had wifi was very small and noisy. The staff weren't very helpful either. All in all I don't think I would be staying in another Britainia hotel in the near future
Ideal location easy to find short walking distance to nia great breakfast
check in was a little slow due to the key card reader playing up but the staff did apologize several times
The only thing i liked was it was in the centre
I get its dated, but it still needs to be clean! Hair in the bath and in the bath mat!
Lack of wifi, only available in public space.
the room/decor was clean and comfy. Room was warm and cosy
There was a humming noise coming from jus outside the window (my room overlooked the central courtyard - possibly an airconditioning unit etc. Wasnt pleasant.
The price and the cleanliness
A very tired and old fashioned hotel. Whilst clean, the windows externally were appalling. You could hardly see out!
The only plus for this hotel is the location..
were to start...carpets and chairs were filthy..The long mirror was covered in what looked like mud..The radiators were covered in dust....and the curtains were falling off the tracks..The whole 9 floors need to be re-vamped...
A 'tired' hotel we got what we paid for, so we were satisfied.
Only one socket in the room. No wifi in room. Very uncomfortable mattress
Fresh clean sheets and soft fluffy towels and location
I suffer on occasions from allergies but have not suffered in over 6 months and any new place can set me off a bit but this was awful. Its obvious that no one checks on the cleaning staff because the tiles around the sink had splashes of soap or toothpaste on them and the carpet in room 311 had not been hovered between guests and around the edges haven't been done for months there was a thick layer of dust this was the reason for my allergy attack, I was coughing all through the night. My partner and I had a very important meeting the following day and I was shattered. This was not a good experience and totally avoidable.
Room was dirty, bedding was yellow looked like someone had urinated in the bed.
Everything was horrible.
Room window faced out on to large block of other hotel rooms (within 20 feet). Therefore, poor lighting and privacy. Basin's tap mixer did not work. No shower curtain. Bed not long enough.
