Price, cleanliness, location, comfort
Slightly dated decor
Staff very rude, changed rooms twice, both as bad as each other. No lightbulbs in lamps by bed, TV didn't work, very dirty. When asked if I could upgrade was told didn't have any and to check out if didn't like
The bed wasn't falling apart and the sheets were clean. Price.
Everyhting else. There was a very musty smell on exiting the lift (floor 8) and this carried on into my room. The room was full of dust and grime, and stains up the walls. TV is very dated, only 4 channels and poor signal. TV not working in bar. Pictures on here do not show a fair representation of this hotel.
location, leaving !
Noisy staff talking till 3am outside in the passage, this hotel is very run down and in need of TLC, television didn't work, very noisy, poorly maintained
Location is very convenient.
The hotel was extremely noisy through the night, and with the exception of very clean bedding, my room was dirty and basic. It's cheap, but there's better hotels in Birmingham for the same money.
Near to all shopping
Carpet dirty as his windows and nets needs a facelift
The bed sheets were clean. It's in a great location.
I booked this room for 1 night. I arrived with my girlfriend and upon entering our room noticed a few things: 1) A mysterious stain on the wall, from this I had deduced that the toilet did not flush but to my surprise it did. What the stain was is impossible to know but I had a few ideas, none of them pleasant. 2) The bath was stained with what must have been a good 15/20 years worth of dirt. I decided against using it and went straight out to eat dinner. The stains weren't limited to the bathtub, behind the sink and behind the toilet there was years worth of dirt staining the bathroom fittings. This place needs a refurb badly. 3) The floors were carpeted (I think) I say I think they were carpeted because whatever was on the floor was beneath a good few layers of dirt. I didn't feel comfortable taking my shoes off. In fact it was so dirty I didn't take my shoes off. I went out to dinner after 10 minutes in the room and only returned after dinner to collect my belongings and check out. When I told the woman I was checking out an hour and a half after checking in her response was "okay", not "is there a problem?", "okay". Something tells me this isn't an unusual occurance.
Location was very good.
The room was so noisey, work going out right outside. Even though the special request on the booking asked specifically for a room at the back of the building to avoid the noise. The fire alarm went off twice at 1am, the next morning I asked a member of staff and he was very rude saying it was not their fault and didn't apologise on behalf of the hotel. Bath tub also had hair in it.
nothing good in the hotel
Staff, clean and wifi
The shower was probably the best thing about my stay at this "hotel"
Customer service from staff is appalling, location of hotel is central a 2 minute walk from New Street station but because it's among retail shops the level of noise from outside is just painful. The walls are thin so you could conversations of other guests. The hallway/corridors stink and dimly lit, the room was quite small and decor is quite dated.
mattress was firm, location was great, very central
room was very dirty, didn't look they even hoovered before my arrival. room and whole corridors smelled cigarrette as smoking is allowed in the rooms. they provided only one bath towel even I booked the room for 2. They didn't have a phone in the room to call room service and since I was on the 7th floor and was showering late in the night didn't bother to go back down to the reception to ask for another one. it seems that they do a special web offer on booking.com but do a bit of cuts on the service to keep the profit
I was surprised to be in a smoking room. I had not noticed this at booking.
Room had not been cleaned before we arrived. The room was very tired and dirty. We would not use this hotel again.
Location and bed was comfortable.
It is very tired and dated.
The staff were very good, the room spotless
The room window opened. The bed was comfortable. Water was very hot.
Door card kept failing. TV stopped working several times. Tap on bath fell of in my hand. When I turned on the Hot water tap the noise was like a traction engine. Carpet was dirty & stained. Damp patches on wall & ceiling. Walls were paper thin - could here conversation and the rest !!!! Next door.
the location and the price
Fire alarms going off all night long. Location in a dangerous place for the entrance. Breakfast was disgusting wouldn't even feed it to my dog!! The place stunk of canibus
The location is very good and I really liked the authentic 70s theme. With a great sense of achievement, and after much pressing I managed to make the 7th floor lift button work and this saved me walking to the 6th floor every time I wanted to go down.
I was surprised be given a "smoking" room - is that legal? The corridor had a strong smell of smoke and the room smelt of smoke too. I gave up smoking 13 years ago but it gave me a strong desire to go out and buy a packet of Bensons.
Perfect for shopping trips. Very Basic room
Strong Smell of disinfectant when entering room.
Location. Was cheap.
Only staff I had contact with was reception on check in. Was miserable guy.
