Score from 77 reviews Very good
clean very sociable didnt need anything staff very delightfull going to stay again my husband enjoyed his 50th perfect
Comfy bed, decent breakfast, good location, polite staff, clean
Room a bit tired (pealing paintwork etc) despite having had an overhaul. The pool and spa were advertised as having luxury changing facilities - this is wholly untrue. The changing area was so small there are no actual rooms in it, and 4 people made it full. The floor was disgustingly filthy with the 1 shower flowing into the minute space people were trying to change in. There were 9 people in the very small pool, which made it overcrowded. Ended up going back upstairs.
Staff dress and presentation was poor. Food was less than impressive. Room was small (for a double) and not very comfortable. Really could do with updating. WiFi in bedrooms was so intermittant it was useless. In a modern age surely this can be seen to.
liked the staff and the overall experience, lovely view from the room
the very very small changing room by the swimming pool. The edge of double bed was so soft I fell off it a few times
Excellent service staff are very friendly and welcoming room was very comfortable and the food was amazing had a great time worth every penny.
Good bedrooms, good breakfast enjoyed my stay and I'm fussy
Bed was heaven
Not enough staff on serving at the bar
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a little dated but had everything we needed so we were more than happy. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
Not enough tea bags and milk but the receptionist send someone to our room with more supplies. When having a meal in the bar you had to get your own sauces etc which wasn't a problem but would have been nice to have been asked if we needed anything more.
The staff in reception - they were excellent. I really enjoyed the Hake that I ordered for room service.
I did not have a bad experience at all.
Good food.. great beers... Tesco round the corner!
Wi FI was problematic ... Not the hotels fault tho!
Hanna in reception was wonderful.
staff friendly, food good value. ample parking.
The staff offered excellent service. The hotel was easy to get to from the motorway for an overnight stop and the room value was excellent. It was also a bonus to have the small spa/pool/steam room facility on site.
We felt the hotel restaurant was overpriced and the hotel is not near many other places to eat as it is quite a roadside location.
Bad things - Shower didn't work (reported), Breakfast in the room was incomplete, The room was very dated compared with similar hotels, bed was hard, was over charged - the hotel took out another payment without telling me.
Nice little Gym
Problems with internet connection - very slow
It was our 2nd stay at the hotel and it stays exactly how we left it last time, in a good way, friendly staff, lovely leisure facilities and a great room to sleep in and all topped off with excellent room service.
We had a lovely time at the hotel, The facilities eas excellent and we would definitely stay again.
Cold room , I requested a boquet of flowers as something extra as it was my partners 30th and they wasn't there and breakfast was disappointing. And the children/baby in the next room keeping us awake..
We kind of sprung the surprise of having a 4m-ish pole used for pole vaulting as we were a group of athletes and the staff did everthing they could to accomodatte us. The room was clean and comfy with everything required for a one night stay. I like the traditional nature of the hotel and the service was first rate. On site parking was good too.
Quality of food was Excellent
Breakfast bar was poorly managed,i.e. ran out of eggs and bacon twice to my knowledge and no staff there monitoring the situation
The exit door was good
No heating when arrived was told would come on at 5pm (which i was gobsmaked at), pulled from pillow to post to get food in end i walked out & went to local restaurant. Very cramped lift that said it could fit 8 people in. Lift struggled with 4 adults.
the leisure club being open over the Christmas period.
at Breakfast you frequently had to ask for hot items to be replenished. This took several minutes to arrive which by that time other items had also run out.
Booked a quiet double room on an upper floor and was allocated a twin room on the ground floor next to the disco!! Room changed without fuss. Excellent Wi Fi, free parking and good breakfast. Would stay again.
Easy to book and change booking edit later on if required on line was exelent also allways managed to get accom at hotel which i have used many times over the years whilst working or on traning courses at british gas buisness or on holiday in yorks, but dont like verable price of room idea? Tues £50 wed 60 thurs 70? Whats all that about? A fair fixed price should be £ 50 max for this hotel with breakfast not £10.95 extra on top of 70?
Breakfast is fair but expensive for what it is? Verable room price too expensive at 70 should be fixed at £50 inc breaky?Pool area. Showing signs of of age and/or very little maintainance or cleaning ?very grubby and loads of lights lamps not working? The in pool spa device hasnt worked for ages and still isnt?
Swimming pool and steam room great, double room spacious and live view of college, bar staff very professional and pleasant as were reception staff, room nice and warm
Breakfast staff not the best 1st visit no one explained the breakfast buffet procedure just that I could have fried or poached egg, breakfast moved to a different room nearly everyday due to Xmas functions and rooms quite cold everyday, coffee disgusting and bacon overlooked and sausages skin way too hard, would be better to have had breakfast cooked fresh as they do at the premiere in at the brecks, Rotherham - whole experience did not feel special at all and on Xmas morning there was no Xmas music and no one actually said merry Christmas to me - staff spent a lot of time chatting to each other quite loudly - also in the bar at night the staff would visit the bar for drinks in their uniform which I don't think is right and 2 females were chatting to a 18 year old boy trying to arrange a sex meeting talking about spanking him which was very unpleasant to listen to !
