convenient when driving , notr far away from hospital
little bit old
A pleasant surprise - a quiet, friendly hotel, good breakfast, easy parking, a similar price to a Premier Inn but heaps better
The staff at the Carlton Park were very pleasant and helpful, the bar in the hotel was lovely and comfortable. It was a really busy weekend with lots of Xmas parties but the staff appeared to cope really well. We didn't eat at the Carlton but the room and the bed were really comfortable and we had a lovely view out of the window overlooking the nearby college.
Room 203 was very noisy at about 5.oo AM. Perhaps we were over the kitchen ?
Cold breakfast room
Restaurant, excellent food Location as we were there for the sole purpose of visiting the hospital
Young lady operating the Bar and Restaurant on the Sunday and Monday evenings was the only person who managed a friendly conversation
General sullenness of reception staff.
good place to stay when in S/Yorks handy for Meadowhall and Sheffield. Good hotel for Christmas parties.
Quiet rooms, good breakfast, very good WI FI
Convenient to the M1, and Shefiield, Rotherham. Friendly efficient staff. Free Wifi that works
Bit in need of a facelift
staff good and helpful and nice place
people were shouting at 1 am is not good when you have a baby in the room the beds are to small for a couple
Room 417 had continous noise all night. I thought it was the central heating. It was most annoying. It kept me awake for most of the night! It has to be put right!
Loved our stay in the 4 poster room (which was a surprise as we didn't ask for it). Bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean. I do not know what the other reviews are moaning about saying the décor is dated, it totally fits in the the style of the hotel. we had a evening meal at the bar and the food was excellent. so was gutted we missed breakfast in the morning but the bed was that comfy we didn't wake up early enough :) Would stay here again for sure.
Although the bar and reception staff were very friendly I thought they could benefit from a smarter uniform. That is all
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good with a very good selection. The room was ok.
Although we didnt complain the spare blanket had coffee stains. the spare pillows were dirty. There was a coffee spill mark on the wall which hadn't been cleaned. Some of the tile grout dirty. (Again tea or coffee.) Although some may like the bed it was far too soft. I have arthritis in the spine so got no sleep due to pain we also thought the price for food was a liitle expensive. Eg, Club andwich and bucket of chips for around £11. Basically 2 slices of bread with filling the bucket could get about 10 chips in. Not value for money. Small carpark which was full due to venues.
having stayed at this hotel on a few occasions i feel that it has gone down hill a little having said that the staff were lovely as usual.
the jacuzzi was not working. we were first given a room that had a strong smell smoke, but was moved on complaint. my potatoes for my evening meal came 5 minutes after the main course was served !! The table was also not very clean.
All very nice
A little dated but only in some areas. Was only slightly let down the jacuzzi was out of action, wasn't really to bothered. Pool and steam rooms were excellent..!!
Jacuzzi wasn't working, female changing room floor was a safety hazard as it was swimming in water.
good value compared with a travelodge considering how much more you get including free access to spa breakfast (buffet) nicely presented with linen on tables decor - lovely paintings accommodating staff
shame jacuzzi broken
this was our third time staying here, its very central to get to other places without much trouble.we had a comfy room on the forth floor, much better signal for mobiles then the lower floors.
we were very dissapointed that the spa was out of order,as that was one of the main reasons we went back.the pool was lovley but the changing rooms were very dirty.some of the staff at breakfast need to be re trained in manners, taking plates away from one person while the rest of us were still eating.told her it was very bad manners, her reply was we do it all the time when we are busy.we were the only people having breakfast.the radiators in the rooms were very hot and couldnt be turned down
Room was quiet.
Unfortunately; lots! Staff were unfriendly. Parking was impossible when I arrived. Breakfast was poor. Really not much to say except that I will not be booking the Carlton again.
Leisure centre wasn't very clean. Looked a bit uncared for at the time I went 8 pm. Breakfast fruit not varied and dining room was cold
Roast beef sandwich with gravy
Standard hotel not much to shout about
WIFI non existent, Rooms tidy but need upgrading as getting old. Double Bed not good for 2 people very small. Shower power poor. Guy smoking underneath my 2nd floor window and as no air con had to have window open.. my room smelt of smoke all night. Not really the Hotels problem and did report to staff in the morning. Guess this didn't go anywhere as staff blasé about it!
Breakfast was amazing!
Pool, Room, Staff, generally very good and will happily return again
Jacuzzi out of action Breakfast staff seemed quite harrassed but worked hard and all our beakfast needs were satisfied promptly.
