We stayed in a premier suit and it was lovely modern and beautiful so much room.
We stayed over because we attended a wedding here the hotel was lovely but the toilets needed to b cleaned threwout the event.
kept awake by wedding party all night
The beautiful park and lake next to Hardwick Hall was an absolute bonus... just wonderful. My room was lovely. Nice bowl of fruit ....massive bathroom complete with a phone in the loo! (which was a first for me...) and very comfortable bed. The steak I had in the restaurant downstairs was rather overrated...next time I would eat in the bar. Friendly staff and good quality bacon at breakfast. Can't wait to go back.
Very heavy doors to the bedrooms!
Room was hot more than what suppose to be
The grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel and a sence of history of the place
Nothing else nearby.
Lovely views. Very nice room...went for superior.
There was nothing to dislike. The location, staff, service and food were excellent. Would definitely try to book again.
The only thing I would have liked would have been a different shower curtain arrangement. There's nothing worse than trying to keep the curtain off your body while you wash.
The staff were so helpful and polite, and we felt that we received first class treatment throughout our stay.
Very nice hotel first class quality in all areas from checking in till checking out .10/10
nothing all top class.
Quality of food, service and size of rooms are the three main attractions at this hotel. Breakfast is particularly good value with an array of fresh fruits and a freshly cooked full English breakfast served at your table - a rarity these days!
Not the hotels fault, but some noisy guests disturbed our sleep several times during the night - shouting on corridors, banging around. Not what we expected!
Price of food and drinks
The staff were very kind to us during our nightmare night. We had to call reception 3 times and each time they came to the door very quickly to sort the problems out, eventually someone called the police.
I would advise anyone thinking of making a booking at this hotel to call ahead and see if they are hosting any weddings. Members from a gypsy wedding party tried to break into our room 3 times during the night! All we got from the management the next day was a sorry, no compensation. According to staff it is a hot spot for gypsy weddings.
I loved the old and antique furniture and large mirrors; The grounds leading into the beautiful park with lake and plenty of parking gave a peaceful setting. We attended a wedding there which all went off very well.
Lack of air conditioning would have been a problem in hotter weather. They were unable to prepare a hot chocolate after running out. Dessert wine was written on the menu but not in stock.
The rooms were very spacious and airy lovely views and room size was great
Price of the drink was over the top
I loved the room and the views, the location is simply amazing. The bathroom was very big, the shower more than luxurious.
To get to the room we had to go past an open fire exit door with views onto the rubbish containers. Staff was polite but not very welcoming, no explanation where breakfast was served. Breakfast had to be paid extra, full English breakfast on offer, but the quantity was bordering being pathetic. The very first breakfast I ever had with half a slice of black pudding. The room was amazing but we found left over Tramadol tablets underneath the table, and the duvet cover had a laundry sticker attached to it.
Location was excellent with extensive gardens and walking tracks. Food was very good although we did only eat from the bar menu
Not sure we got the best room on offer given the views available. We were lucky enough to look onto the hotel garbage area. Value for money based on this was average
The room with beautiful views, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The afternoon tea served in the garden was generous and given with lovely service by the staff.
The shower area needed some attention badly. The restaurant food was average and the service was friendly but a bit laid back.
The location and the breakfast with tasty berries
Putting 82 year old mother-in-law near the wedding party noise.
Old world in lovely grounds, good staff, nice bedroom and bathroom
Outside, tall ash trays overflowing, when last emptied ? Food average
Hardwick Hall was where I was born back in the day when it was a maternity home. Although, of course, I have no recollection of those days, it felt like coming home. We spent 3 nights at the hotel. It is a tranquil oasis. We were offered an upgrade so ended up with a beautiful room overlooking the stunning grounds and lake. The room was well appointed, clean and inviting on our arrival. The staff were friendly and very obliging. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfasts were very good - good quality food - sourced locally as far as possible I think. As it was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there we had a meal in 'The Rib Room'. We opted for the 'Steak Night' offer. Our steaks we're well cooked to our liking and delicious. We also had afternoon tea. It was well presented with plenty of choice. Personally we would have preferred more savoury food and less sweet but I guess that's the nature of 'afternoon tea'. The public areas of the hotel are well presented and welcoming. I loved the old staircase.
Whilst we were the waste bins in the room weren't emptied. One day our room wasn't serviced at all so no replenishment of tea, coffee etc and one day the bed was made but no tea/coffee left and the 2 packs of unopened face-cloths were taken away so when we went to have a shower before dinner we had nothing to wash with! Minor things really, but these little things can be the icing on the cake if done properly.
The premier room, the very helpful staff and the fabulous surrounding parkland.
Value for money Excellent service Fabulous facilities Excellent restaurant Good location Quiet and relaxing
Friendly staff and very good dinner in the hotel
Time to check in after long journey
The fact we were given the smallest room in the hotel. Considering we paid the same money as friends and their rooms were much better and bigger. It was very small and needed painted and was looking a bit shabby the bed was small no bath just an over sized shower. the room small the view non existent when you finally got to see out the high windows. Noisey at night with staff leaving. The staff that served the breakfast were grumpy, we sat with friends who had their breakfast by the time we arrived and told to drink the tea from their pot instead of being given fresh tea. My breakfast never came when my partner got his and had to reorder with no concern from the old woman who served us.
