Views and location
Room 214 above dance floor very noisy (wedding reception)
The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was well above standard for a 3 star hotel. The location was perfect. There was ample car parking.
Staff are excellent Rooms are well maintained and up-to-date. Parking. Bar are Restaurant located within hotel. Nicely located next to cathedral which means only a short walk to the nicest part of Lincoln the Bail, with its nice bars and restaurants and cobbled streets.
Location and the food
The mattress on the bed - springy and thin
Opposite cathedral, perfect for exploring city yet quiet. Excellent meal in lovely restaurant despite hotel hosting a wedding Varied breakfast options
Shower screen unable to keep water from spraying on bathroom floor
Location was fantastic and parking next to hotel. Bed v comfortable.
Apart from the girl who checked us in staff weren't very helpful. Room carpet had stains which looked like dried in sick. Breakfast felt very rushed & not great quality. Stay in Lincoln frequently, first time at this hotel & compared to others we weren't impressed. Also tried to charge us for Sunday morning paper, never had that before as when offered they're complimentary. Won't stay there again.
Great location opposite the cathedral, but the bells will wake you early!
Bed was really small, our feet were hanging off the edge all night.
Location in the heart of the town Breakfast was excellent
Silghtly dated and disjointed interior and exterior of hotel. Cannot be helped- but Cathedral Bells will wake you up at 7am.
Have been to this hotel over 20 times and can find no fault with it. Staff always very good and helpful. Food excellent. Will return again.
Having to leave!
Food, staff, decor. 11am checkout. Location great. Would stay again for longer.
Maintenance needs to paint / repair chips, scrapes in corridors, gives a tatty appearance otherwise. Some black mould issues around rm 129. Didn't spoil stay.
We were received in a very friendly and welcoming manner and found everything to our liking. The hotel was very close to the cathedral, castle etc and there was a good choice of restaurants for the evening meal. A most enjoyable stay.
We loved everything about this hotel. Reception was very welcoming and had a very relaxing atmosphere. Great that there was also a night club in the basement that played all the retro favourites! We are already looking to book for next year! I would definitely recommend this hotel to all!
The only down side was that the room was cold as there was no central heating working however there was a small electric heater that took the chill away!
The food in the Green Room - excellent!
When I stayed on the last occasion (Friday and Saturday) there were noisy wedding parties which took over the hotel. Much better on a Monday and Tuesday. The Blue Badge spaces were not available on Monday because of a delivery.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Fantastic location and excellent breakfast! Problems with our meals on two occasions were dealt with extremely well.
The Green Room restaurant lacked ambience (lighting very bright even though there were candles on the tables). Our meal was disappointing.
Location is excellent
Room was to small, shower leaked due to poor design, on entry to room radiators where turned up to the temperature of the suface of the sun, room was non smoking but over the smoking area so when cooling the room down got the cigarette smell in the room. Boilers were regulating throughout the night very noisy. Manager does not feel the need to respond to complaint email even though there whole hotel stay spoilt our third wedding anniversary
Everything, especially the view from the balcony
Excellent location Value for money
This was our first trip too Lincoln. A lovely city to visit and we couldn't have found a better hotel.the rooms, food and staff were terrific...
staff and food very good
hotel poorly maintained, dirty and therefore over priced. Charged extra for parking :-((
Location Staff Food
Can't think of anything
Location excellent. Parking charges very reasonable. Amazing view of the cathedral. Bar food very good, choices somewhat limited though.
Not a lot of choice for bar food although what there was , was good. Breakfast buffett could food dishes could have done with being labelled as to what they were.
The Hotel is superbly located right next to the Cathedral. This does have the drawback that it is a steep climb down to the main shopping area and of course a worse climb back. There is public transport and the stop is right outside the hotel. The entrance to the car park is on Northgate at the side of the hotel. This is not clear unless as the road is a dual carriageway and there is no signs at the main entrance to the hotel. Checking in was painless with the staff both polite and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable with a small balcony. The TV worked well with all the Freeview channels and there was coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, however there was no radio or alarm clock. The bathroom was acceptable with a shower over the bath and “friendly” plastic shower curtains. The restaurant appeared a little expensive so I had a bar meal. This was good value and the bar had a couple of guest bears. The service was polite & helpful though a little sporadic. Will I stay again? Probably yes with my wife for a short break. (On this visit I was on business by myself). I might even splash out on one of the more expensive rooms in the front with a cathedral view.
My room (322) was a double for single occupancy. The double bed was hard up against a wall so you would have had to be a certain amount of climbing over if there were two of you (may be a plus point for some) Two light bulbs were out but this did not cause me any problem and when I reported it to the reception on departure she assured me that they would be replaced immediately. As is often the case my main complaint with the room was a lack of power sockets. There were two and one of these was for the kettle. Neither was by the bead allowing the phone to charge while being at hand to act as a clock and alarm.
Politeness of staff
In Bar 67, no sign of staff and had to find someone to get served
Nice area Lovely Hotel with nice view. Comfortable and Clean. Pleasant staff
Wifi unsecure. Drinks a bit costly but very nice
Location, room and its facilities, ambience
Not clear on where to park, if there's a function on, limited area for quietly relaxing
