Small rooms with small bathroom, and the floor was being refubished but they choose that for customer's room even though that's smelly. And that room you can find one using the same price in London as well.

the staff were efficient and pleasant at all times. Breakfast was cornflakes and jam, tea of coffee and white or brown bread from a sliced loaf. no croissants - so hardly "continental" . admit the rate was very cheap but do wonder whether the breakfast could have been a little more interesting and think it may have a problem with the trade descriptions act. Was upset the dining staff supervisor switched off the television the moment the breakfast finished even though there were several people who had just come in or were still eating their food. Lift wasnt working and walls were very thin but it was generally a reasonable stay for the money.

I do not have anything positive to say about my stay at the hotel, the staff where terible, not friendly, the room was hot and the standing fan was making so much squeaky noise, the entire deco of the hotel is dated. I was to say for 14 nights but only managed 4 nights, the staff was very reluctant and almost refused to give me a refund of my deposit, even though I gave them a 4 days notice and my displeasure of the accommodation. I had to make several visits to the reception before I was told the procedure for getting my refund. Even after completing the process they where trying to tell me I am not entitled for my refund. The staff at the reception where rude to me, proving very difficult when I complained about the room, it was shocking that one can get this kind of treatment from an organisation in the hospitality business. I will not stay in this hotel (Norfolk House Hotel) ever again. The service is the worst I have ever experienced, and would not wish it on my enemy.

The Hotel is in serious need of refurb. Tea making supplies are kept to the bare minimum. as are towels. I didn.t book a double en-suit room with a view to receiving only 1 cooked breakfast and had to argue with the staff before the matter was resolved. there is a very strong cat urine smell in the corredores/rooms ! It served it's perpose, but i definitely wouldn't stay or recomment the establistment to anyone.

Clean, tidy and a receptionist speaking Italian. Free wifi. Con men. First of all I asked them if they could merge the 4 bookings I had made, they procrastinated to answer and then they didn'T. The heather did not work the first night, and I could not get asleep. The day after I told them so, and they did nothing until the afternoon when my son came by the room to check it. They replaced it with a small and weak heather and that night I did not sleep also. So when I complained again the next day They pretended me to pay more money to have a decent warm room instead of apologizing and giving me another two free nights or something. It is cheap so I don't complain about not having a real wardrobe instead of shelf, but then for somebody that stays longer then 2 nights, it would be better to have a wardrobe. I f you don't have a pc with you you are going to pay a pound per hour. The key also is not reliable and needs to be checked every time, that is a bit annoying if your room is at the third floor at the top of the corridor.

My room was like a box. No plug in sink. Shower was very hot but unable to control the temperature so virtually unusable. Grim surroundings - only use hotel if you're desperate!

The room smelled of some kind of paint and was too small. During the night there was some strange noise coming from the hotel as some kind of pump was working, and to fall a sleep with this noise was impossible. The breakfast was awful. Won't go there again.

The location was very good and central to the places that we wanted to visit What they called continental breakfast is nothing but dry. Only bread and cereal, that was just a waste of money because other hotels that I have being in actually have scrambled egg included in the continental breakfast. Also the fact that there are no fridge in the rooms is apparently unbelievable.

Okay if you want a cheap hotel in South London as on main bus routes Small room with no windows so got very stuffy. Very creaky floorboards. Cold water tap in sink not working, also no plug in sink. Old style television with only five channels and pretty poor reception. Breakfast was same every day - corn flakes and toast although you could order full English breakfast at extra cost.

The room was very clean, recently decorated and had a very good shower. It was very noisy and this continued most of the night with loud music and voices. The room was very basic and the bedding inadequate

I was pleasantly surprised at our stay at the Norfolk House Hotel. I expected quite a lot less than we got. We booked a triple room and found the room very clean, beds were comfortable and an ensuite shower room. Although basic it was perfectly sufficient for our needs and we would definately stop here again. The only thing we would do different is to take our own tea/coffee and instant milk as there wasn't enough but this didn't spoil our stay.

Only good thing - clean sheets and a comfortable bed. How many things were wrong with this hotel: 1. Rude reception staff, who barely spoke a word to me 2. MAJOR renovation works going on - dust sheets and paint pots all over. 3. No central heating - a barely adequate electric heater in my room. 4. A live COCKROACH on the dressing table. 5. Dirty, shabby bathroom, curtains falling down and chipboard furniture. This is a doss house for homeless alcoholics and asylum seekers. AVOID

Location as I had been there before and cleanliness of my room. The view out of the window into the "garden" as they are in the middle of refurbishing the hotel. There were lots of baths, toilets and bidets stacked up out the back. However, that did not detract from my enjoyment of the hotel. There were only two things about the hotel that are not good, and that is the difficulty of carrying cases up stairs where the lift does not reach and the fact that when there is a power failure (as there was one morning during my stay) the emergency lighting in my corridor was too dim and there was no emergency lighting in the room. I do think they should really put emergency lighting in the room, although maybe with the card slots used to turn the power in the room may make that difficult.

Loved the clean modern bedrooms. The lighting in the rooms was a bit too subdued though. Dining & bar were very good. Overall for the price I don't think you could expect much more. Very good for the price. Very impressed. The only thing we could fault was the mattress. It was without a doubt the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. The bed frame was custom made & was good, but I think it just made everything slope into the middle. Had the bed have been better I would have given it 5 out of 5 for the price.

Free Parking The Reception staff were not attentive enough very arrogant boarding in rude. Major repairs are being done at present, I was not aware of that prior to my arrival, hence very dirty and dusty not mentioning extremely noisy.with all the workers and equipment used. No heating in my room, first night very cold, I had to request twice for handy man had to come and fkix it, he came in with pliers to turn it on, but I was unable to swtich it off or turn it down after that !!!. (no valve/s) Also, due to an electrical issue, me and other adjacent rooms were without tv for hours. Cables were hangin downoutised our rooms and ladder left there for days . Nota apleasant stay at all.

Bed was comfy - thats it Room far too small to move around. Could not sit straight on loo cos of lack of space. Three people asleep and snoring in reception on my arrival. Having requested ground floor due to disability no-one contacted me to say this was not available due to renovations. To get to lift there were stairs. Staff not friendly or professional. Not clear it was just conrinental breakfast. Not given opportunity to upgrade - not that I would have given them a penny more of my money. Very disappointed. More like a youth hostel.

Very basic hotel. Did not like it at all.. Breakfast was poor, not enough sugars to prepare tea in room. No facilities at all.. very poor experience. Bins were not cleared everyday, upon asking the person who does the housekeeping, she did not agree.

I enjoy my trip to the city and the service at breakfast and the cleanning of the room. I booked a room with two twin beds and I informed the management that I was traveling with two young kids ages three and five. My room had a twin and a single bed. The worse was that due to constructions being done in the interior of the hotel the lift was not working and my room was on the 4th floor!!!!

Value for money. Good renovated rooms. Of course, it isn't centre of the city, hotel located in Croydon. It is about 10 minutes for a walk till Western Croydon rail-station or about 20 minutes till Selhurst Station. And then 20 minutes till London centre by train. No need to take the bus at all. The poorest breakfast ever seen: bread, jam, milk, coffee. But close to the hotel a lot of good cafes with delicious breakfast. Wi-fi only in lobby.

Close to public transportation, lots of bars and restaurants around. Located in a safe neighbourhood. Continental breakfast included in rent was good. Extra expense for TV remote, iron usage, not having facility to make outgoing phone calls. Located by the side of a Muslim mosque makes it noisy during prayer times, specially on Friday and at night.
