the staff were efficient and pleasant at all times. Breakfast was cornflakes and jam, tea of coffee and white or brown bread from a sliced loaf. no croissants - so hardly "continental" . admit the rate was very cheap but do wonder whether the breakfast could have been a little more interesting and think it may have a problem with the trade descriptions act. Was upset the dining staff supervisor switched off the television the moment the breakfast finished even though there were several people who had just come in or were still eating their food. Lift wasnt working and walls were very thin but it was generally a reasonable stay for the money.

It was clean and relatively reasonable pric wise. T hey had a problem with the keys and the TV was not working on the first night. It still had not been fixed when I went back that night even though I specifically asked them to make sure it was.

The continental breakfast was good and inclusive of the room, which is excellent for budget travellers. I am glad there are family room for three persons, though the room is cramped with the bed framework. Enjoyed the wifi which was also accessible in the guest room, though weak but it was good at the public area.

The hotel is full of clutter in that boxes of fittings were strewn across the floor in the dining room and elsewhere. The hotel was clearly undergoing some superficial refurbishment but more effort should have bbeen taken to store and conceal the goods. Basicaly, the hotel was patronized by 'van-men' and guys in yellow vests. Breakfast was underwhelming (white or brown toast, rice krispies or corn flakes - that was about it - no cooked food) and the doors closed very noisely so no sleep either.

Kettle but not enough tea, coffee, sugar, milk. Staff not helpful renovating, left us to get 2 lge & 2 sml cases up 4 flight of stairs. Also the key card didn't work properly. The car park was more like a junk yard. The room had a small double and single in it, for comfort we slept in separate beds, hair dryer didn't work, shower wasn't very good either Everything wouldn't recommend it

We were glad to leave. Lot of building and renovation work going on. Our room was fair and the bed was clean but the other room facilities were very poor. The shower was hanging off the wall which was repaired but had a poor water flow. Something like yoghurt was smeared on the window and curtains. One of the matresses was all springs and very uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was a joke. Cornflakes and rice crispies and white bread was it, in a room full of stored materials. There was a toast machine but it wasn't working. Only no breakfast at all could have been worse. A member of staff said the hotel had been taken over by Ibis. If this is the case then it would best if the new owners closed the hotel, carried out the building work and sorted things out. Could be made into a comfortable hotel but the only thing good about it at the moment is the exit.

Comfortable, clean, refurbished room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Poor breakfast - rolls would have been much nicer than toasted sliced bread. Room was cold. There was a heater, but no instructions on how to use it.

The service from the staff and the accommodation were great value for money. We were allowed to book early at noon and the staff made a room available with a minimum delay. At the time of my visit the hotel was being refurbished and quite a lot of building materials were being stored in the public rooms. We had a refurbished room which was excellent. I think the staff and hotel handled the situation as well as could reasonably be expected.

It was conveniently situated, as we had to arrange and organise the burial off a relative in Croydon. The room was situated to the rear and on the ground floor which meant it was relatively quiet and the bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. 1 Theirs was only one bedside cabinet and lamp when there were space and facilities for both. 2.shower floor was smooth and slippery and no shelf in shower for putting items such as soap showergel etc. 3..sink tap was difficult to operate and plug mechanism difficult to use. 4.A dangerous step in the dinning room, wobbly tables no marmalade for breakfast. not to mention everything was covered with dust sheets. Presumably because of the building work going on in parts of the building !

I liked the location and the bus routes were convient. The housekeeping was good. I didnt like been asked for full payment in cash in advance of my stay as I checked in ,not just authorisation. The lifts were not working. My request, made well in advance, that the two single rooms be adjoining was ignored.

We had a decent sized, recently refurbished room. The hotel is quite close to the West Croydon station for easy travel into the city but traffic noise wasn't an issue at all. The hotel is part way through a major refurbishment, however the noisy work is only being done by day and so isn't really an issue at all, especially if you're out sight seeing during the daytime.
