Extremely disappointed with the hotel, that's not worth it 4 stars, but 3 stars average at maximum. The best things about the hotel were the staff, that they are trying their best with the resources that they have (special mention to Manoj, that were greeting us every morning with his big smile), and the waffles during breakfast, which were made specifically for you. Things that they need to improve to get to a real 4 stars hotel: * Shower was dirty, they could not clean it. * Safety box was not working, and we couldn't use it because there were not able to fix it. * The weed smell at the entrance of the hotel and inside of the elevator was simply disgusting. * The bedrooms are way too small, they should have the possibility of getting something bigger. * They accepted via email to decorate the room upon my arrival for a special occasion I found that they didn't do it and actually the sheets were dirt when we arrived. They ruined a surprise with that. * Insulation of the rooms is poor, and having a noisy neighbor will ruin your rest. * The Chromecast in the rooms is not 100% functional, and the staff does not always know how it works. * There is no ventilation in the bathroom, with a non-working fan. * The gym is just a joke. Another bad thing that happened to me was that we arrived quite late, after 00:00, and the staff member insisted on me giving a physical credit card for the deposit. I had to open my luggage in the lobby and find something because he wouldn't let us go to the room (booked via booking, where I have all the details), even when we were extremely tired.
I’ve stayed in Croydon and kirkdale hotel for a night and was the worst hotel I ever ever seen.. dirty stink mouldy noisy.not nice at all I should sleep in car will be batter..from 1 to 10 I’ll give big zero 0.
my niece was to stay at this property Xmas evening. I have since complained to Booking .com about the state of it and sent them photos of the broken shower, the broken hand basin, the mould etc. They have done nothing except say the hotel will not refund. Not impressed at all!
Sorry to say, It is not the same standard as when it was Jurys hotel. One of the chairs was a bit worn and the other one had a broken leg (no wheel). On a positive note, front desk staff were professional and courteous.
The lovely helpful staff, especially the lovely man from Scotland in the breakfast room who was very helpful as my mum wasnt well and he made sure that i could take what she needed up to the room from breakfast! but overall they were all great staff!
Croydon is a melting pot of various cultures, evident in the vast range of cuisine and food outlets in the town. Access to nature (Park Hill, Lloyd park), abundant transport options to central London, the South coast, airport, shopping, etc make Croydon a great location both for first timers and returning visitors. BoxPark just next to East Croydon station is a great foodie hub, shopping in Centrale and the Witgift Center covers a wide range of tastes and budgets and a myriad of local pubs aids the evening ‘wind down’.
The hotel is next to eastcroydon station.3 min walk so it s easy to take the train to the gatwick airport. Clean quiet with tv private bathroom towels.machine for coffee tea .snack distributor.staff friendly .he helped me to keep my food in the fridge .there s a lift. To get there take the train from victoria station to eastcroydon Best choice for travellers who have flights early Price worth it
The breakfast was great, lots of variety for the hot and cold dishes. The reception was very friendly. Unfortunately there was no fridge in the room, so we had to ask reception to store some of our food in their kitchen which was not very convenient. The hotel is located very close to East Croydon station where you can easily take a train to go to the centre of London and to the Gatwick airport.
Really enjoyed our stay,me and my son went to the womens league cup final at selhurst park and this hotel was the perfect location.
