Nothing, the room was being cleaned and the carpets were all wet. I didn’t feel comfortable with the wet carpet and would not stay here again

The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bed linen was crisp. The additional treats in the room were a nice touch, though not cheap. Breakfast was good, but not outstanding. Sleep mask and earplugs were welcome.

London Croydon Aerodrome Hotel, BW Signature Collection, hotel in Croydon

With leafy gardens, the London Croydon Aerodrome; Best Western Signature Collection offers free fibre optic WiFi and 24-hour front desk.

The hotel provided parking although at £10 per day but at least that was overnight and you could add the exact time of your stay when paying at the machine in the car park and so paid exactly for your stay. The family room we had booked was large and clean. Just right for a family of three. The beds were comfortable and the room was modern and clean. The bathroom contained a shower and a bathtub and was a good size. Breakfast was good with options for a fully cooked breakfast as well as cereals and toast. The coffee was also good.

FAQs about hotels in Croydon

Shopping Destination with Convenient Station

Midway between central London and Gatwick Airport, Croydon is a shopping haven. Hundreds of stores are found under the glass-roofed Whitgift Centre and the even more modern Centrale complex.

This thriving retail industry is one factor contributing to the town being London’s 3rd most important business area, so naturally it has its fair share of skyscrapers. Also tall is the red-brick Croydon Clocktower, housing the town museum, and attached to the town hall overlooking Queen’s Gardens.

Opposite is Fairfield Halls, a large arts venue behind which run train lines connecting East Croydon Station to London Victoria in one direction, and Gatwick and Brighton in the other. Modern trams also link the town to other suburbs. Croydon used to have its own airport (once more important than Heathrow) and its former terminal is a museum open one Sunday a month.

The town minster houses tombs of some archbishops of Canterbury and their summer residence was Croydon Palace, now a school. Much more famous is the BRIT School which has nurtured musical artists including Adele, Jessie J and Katie Melua.

The Croydon accommodation on Booking.com includes 4-star hotels with pools, guest houses with parking and cheap apartments. In the Borough of Croydon are Addington, home of an opulent palace, and neighbouring Shirley with its Grade II-listed windmill.

Paying for breakfast hot or cold £10 is not on & paying for parking when you’re booked to stay & saying it’s first come first served is not on especially if you’re a woman on your own from out of town

Great view. A few things were broken in the unit.

Great view. A few things were broken in the unit. Well located near the train, easy to get to London and food. 200 pound deposit is not possible when booked at short notice as an international traveller. An international transfer cannot happen that quickly and cash was not accepted. Just not practical. Thanks to the lady who dropped the key, she was great.

We came to east Croydon because our niece was getting married at Addington Palace and we were recommended the hotel which was fine apart from not having a fridge exp when it was hot and you wanted a glass of ice cold water!

It's a real dump compared to when I lived there 8 years ago. Was visiting friends and that's the only reason I was there. Transport is good and there's masses of eateries to choose from. A good cinema but it's just masses of housing, roadworks and traffic jams

Good transportation to London, 15mins into London via overground rail. Good link to the underground into central London. Good and big malls around the area, many eateries and easy access to Gatwick in 15 minutes via East Croydon Station.

I grew up near Croydon and it has changed a great deal, It has good transport and access to shops. It is fairly built up in some areas but has a good community spirit and some older buildings do remain. Coulsdon is in a more leafy part of the borough and I enjoyed staying in the Coulsdon Manor Hotel.

The staff is friendly, committed and ready to help you. The general vibe of the restaurant is great, and the food (we only took breakfast and lunch) is tasty and a great value for the money paid. The location of the hotel is great for someone who is comfortable with London public transport. The area has a Costa Coffee nearby, and a supermarket around 10mins walk. It is also 15mins away by bus from East Croydon, a well-linked train station to London (15-20mins).

Breakfast is good. Wi-Fi is fast. The staff are very helpful. If you are driving in London, then it's a great location. They have parking onsite with lots of space. This hotel is near a commercial center with quite a few options of restaurants, within a walking distance (only 5mins walking). It's not far to East Croydon Station (about 8 mins by taxi), and from there you can take one of the express trains and be in the city center quite quickly.

Hotel very close to East Croydon train station is the first positive. Hotel is in walking distance to the City Centre. Room size, Staff and breakfast are all good. This is the second time I have stayed here. Ms.Mariyana from the breakfast area has to be mentioned here for the way she welcomes guests for breakfast with a gentle smile. Also, she makes sure that we are not left wanting for something. Always happy to help.

The beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. We had a very good experience checking in and out and the property was so close to East Croydon station with a supermarket literally 1 min walk away. Loved that we could also get to London Bridge in 18 mins and to Gatwick Airport in less than 20 mins. Very centrally located to all the shops.

Location very good. Very close to East Croydon station and local amenities. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby within 5 minutes walk. Hotel room is basic. It has everything you would need, bed, shower, tv. No frills. Value for money for area. Reception staff very friendly and pleasant.
