Excellent hotel, perfectly placed for visiting Liverpool and exploring the sights. It is opposite the Philharmonic Hall, if you are at a concert and it is a late finish, this hotel is ideal for you. Beds are very comfortable, choice of pillows, lovely bathroom products in individual bottles, and good quality Breakfast is continental, £10, plenty of fresh fruit, cereal yogurts, fresh pastries and unlimited tea or coffee.. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Lime Street station. The hop on hop off bus stops outside. The staff are very helpful. Definitely a place to stay.

FAQs about hotels in England

The Small Country with Big Appeal

For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.

Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.

Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.

With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

Such a friendly, helping and lovely staff at Avon Hotel. They helped us with everyting we needed, city instructions,Oyster cards, socket adapter, taxi for the airport.I felt so sorry I didnt had the chance to say goodbay with a big hug because of the early hour we left.I recomand Avon Hotel,it is closed to eveeything,15- 20 min to anywhere you wished to go.The Paddington station is 3 min walk.We only used the undergound and not the bus.The Hyde Park is 5- 10 min walk and it is amazing to visit. We basically walked from Hyde Park to Victoria station. The breakfast was also very good and tasty, with coffee, orange juice, tea, fruits. In London it is not easy to find a hotel which offers also breakfast, therefore for this location is a plus and it is something what we were looking for when choosing the hotel.Highly recomomend Avon Hotel!

The hotel is in a very good location, near the beach and the promenade, with a building rich in history. The architecture and history are beautiful. It used to be luxurious, and that's still noticeable. Our room was on the 5th floor. Comfortable bed, renovated bathroom, dry, and clean. I especially want to mention the staff. My son got sick with a high fever, and we needed a late checkout at 5 p.m. They accommodated us without charging for an extra night and allowed us to stay for a very symbolic additional fee. We definitely want to come back.

I always enjoy a trip to London and have favourite places I like to visit. This time we didn't visit museums and galleries. We walked from Westminster through the city ,taking in major landmarks and parks and ending up in Covent Garden. Here we went to a traditional pub and had food before going to the Albert Hall for one of the proms. The next day we spent at Kew Gardens, which was lovely.

I went to a gig of Pakistani Sufi music at Aviva Studios, walked through the Northern Quarter, went to a bad Chinese restaurant, spent ages in Manchester Art Gallery and did a lot of walking through the middle of town. Cafe Istanbul is good, with the best chilli sauce I've ever tasted. The mixture of architectural styles, clubbers dressed in their underwear, trams constantly parping and traditional rain kept me stimulated. I'll certainly go back, to Media City, The Lowry (even though his paintings don't do much for me), the Science and Industry Museum and elsewhere.

Despite Blackpool being a little run down, I found it has plenty to offer, the beach which is quite impressive and a must to walk along. The zoo is worth a visit and can be reached by bus (number2) from various stops in the centre, There are indoor attractions incase it rains,I.e. the tower, aquarium, madam tousards, golf and a host more,

Albert's Schoss was perfect for breakfast.

Albert's Schoss was perfect for breakfast. Not crowded and the food looked and tasted incredible. Want to come back and experience their nightlife as the bar was stocked and the decor unique. We had dinner at Salt and the food was delicious with the tastes bursting. Staff so attentive and helpful. Went for an after dinner drink at St Peter's Church. The renovations maintained the solemnity of the church while opening it up to more guests. We walked around the Beatles area, the waterfront and the shopping areas. Only stayed a day and could have wandered around longer as we hadn't even touched on the historic buildings.

York is an Incredible place.

York is an Incredible place. Have been there before, but a very long time ago. Still remember all the interesting places. We visited this time over the Bank Holiday weekend, it was incredibly busy.Plenty to do and see but the volume of people there was astronomical.!! All the shopping areas were full most of the day. All the well known shops are there, and all the quirky ones too! This included the Shambles area and Stonegate area, plus the many side lanes and cobbled streets for more interesting shops. York Minster is superb too. Also chose to go to the National Railway Museum, this attraction is still free. This area of York is still being redeveloped, this will improve facilities at the Railway Museum. The museum is superb with plenty to see. Plenty of eating places and pubs in York, all within walking distance. A very good experience this visit to York.

Birmingham has some great Cantonese roast meat and rice restaurants, and most importantly, some of our closest family live here. The city feels clean, peaceful, and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. If I have the opportunity, I would love to come back and visit more often. It is a city that feels very special to us.
