I grew up in Liverpool but have not lived there for years. It's a great city and people are generally more friendly than in other parts of the UK. Keith's Wine Bar on Lark Lane is a favourite old haunt. We loved walking round the shops in town (lovely cake at the Bluecoat and great records in Probe). We had nice tapas in Lunya, and the area around Liverpool One was buzzing and fun. With more time, we'd have visited some of the art galleries and museums. We enjoyed drinks in the ornate Philharmonic pub and dinner in the The London Carriage Works (though thought the latter was not great value).
Personally I think your Liverpool attractions are over priced and visitors should be advised that most places are at a cost from £5.00 to get into the Cavern....which is not the original Cavern....to £15, £16, £17 to enter places....The only good value for money was the £12.00 Ferry of 50 minutes and hearing excellent history of Liverpool and the docks....saying that with a screaming baby in the back ground on the ferry I didn't hear all the facts...and the cost of £3.20 for a latte....you should be in shares with Costa Coffee!!! All in all Liverpool is a beautiful City with so much History and it is a shame that people can not afford your prices to find and enjoy your history.
Brilliant thankfully we had great weather, but everything you want is there. Shopping, Clubbing, Pubbing, Sightseeing, Culture, History, Theatre & Entertainment. Super Friendly and lots of Positive Energy.
Had a brief drive through Liverpool many years ago and was very unimpressed, hence expectations of this trip were mixed. They were far exceeded! It really is a great city-break location now. A young (lots of students) and vibrant but still friendly city with plenty of attractions - much much more than just 'Beatlemania). Would strongly recommend anyone new to the city to take the combined ferry and hop on/off bus tour trip from the Pierhead, which is a great way to orientate yourself and includes helpful and amusing commentary. Museum of liverpool (on the waterfront) and others are very well done and free (you don't have to pay for every activity!). No doubt most tourists will visit Mathew Street where The Cavern Club was but be aware the original building was knocked down long ago and this is now something of a noisy tourist trap - we didn't pay to go in. Try to make a visit to the Philharmonic Dining Rooms (a pub) for its amazing Grade 1 decor and decent food and ales - a 10 minute walk from city centre into the georgian Quarter.
What can I say that would imp[rove the reputation of such a famous City - I'm not even going to try! There's lots to do whatever you like and the people are great - you'd be silly not to come!
The apartment was nice but too many stairs for my elderly mother, also it was really noisy early hours of the morning from people behind the apartment who were arguing. The pullout bed was uncomfortable I would opt for a two bed apartment next time on the ground floor, otherwise it would have been ok apart from noisy neighbours. I liked the shopping area and the pubs were all great and not too expensive. The people of Liverpool are always really friendly, welcoming and proud of their city. The museum’s are great too.
After London fireworks and concert were cancelled on new years eve. I have decided with my girlfriend to go to liverpool for firework display. We choose this hotel as it was cheapset good rated hotel. Staff member was nice to begin with. I could not remember the name of his but was very polite and helpful. Quickly have checked us into the hotel. Location was brilliant as it was only lile 5 minutes walk to albert docks which is what we wanted to see. Bed was very comfortable and provided us with standard coffee and cups.
the location is excellent so close to both railway and city Centre, the room was comfortable and clean with a good view down towards the Mersey, the breakfast was excellent, great choices and very good quality produce, (as a chef a hotels food quality is benchmark for me) both the dining area and the spacious bar were spotless and well appointed, I have stayed in hotels and paid double the price that were not as good as this, I am sure I will return next time I visit Liverpool.
Liverpool
Best hostel in Liverpool. Cheap. Clean. Comfortable. Staff are always lovely and now recognise me when I turn up. Hostel room I had didn’t have bunks. Extra bonus, no concussion 😂. Each bed has a plug and a lamp, other guests in room were friendly. wish they had places on Saturday as the hotel I picked wasn’t half as nice as this one. Close to city centre right near Bold street. Perfect for me as I stay here for gigs and shows. Defo will be back.
The location and the historical architecture of the original building which in the best location in the city for seeing the liver building and water ways around the Liverpool docks. The history in relation the most famous floating hotel and all the memorabilia relating to final journey with regard to the Titannic. The day/night staff were very polite and supportive to your every need Xxxxxcccccccccccccccvvvvvvv.
Everything is damn good! The location is pretty awesome, just a few minutes from a lot of pubs, including the iconic The Cavern. But you can find the best pint of Guinness just downstairs, in the pub just outside the hotel. The hotel is cozy and good and so does the staff. If you want to stay in the hearth of Liverpool, stay in this hotel.
Clean and confortable room. Good location, close to all amenities, city centre, the docks and the waterfront. The reception staff was friendly, profesional and efficient. There was a greek girl, who was specially nice and efficient (sorry, can't remember her name). A place to stay when we come back to Liverpool.
A lovely plush hotel with good customer service located in a great dockside location. One-min from the arena and a 5-min walk to the Albert dock and a 10-min walk to the main city centre. Quality beds and a great breakfast with plenty of options.
First time staying in Liverpool this hotel was in a perfect location, great for eating out, good walk around the docks and close to City centre shops. The staff were fantastic so friendly and nothing was a bother. Great price would stay again.
Fantastic location and such a great atmosphere. It's loud and buzzing, just what you want from a city centre hotel. The rooms are basic, but clean, friendly staff, great breakfast and door staff on to ensure security late at night
Great location right next to the docks and Liverpool One, the parking right outside the hotel is useful too and very cheap compared to the rest of the city. Staff were friendly and the bar and communal areas were surprisingly nice.
We had a delightful stay in this very clean, well located hotel. The staff were kind and helpful. we would highly recommend the Hard Days Night Hotel for anyone looking to explore Liverpool.
Lovely, clean hotel. Great room, comfy bed, great amenities. Loved the breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Definitely our go-to place in Liverpool from now on.
The hotel was perfect for the arena, the Albert docks and the city centre, it was very safe and secure, the breakfast was good, and chloe on reception was so lovely & welcoming
Great hotel in up and coming area 10 min walk to city centre 5 mins to the docks. Staff very polite and helpful. Breakfast really good bar.
