We stayed for 6 days which with hindsight was a little too long although we did fill our days and evening up to the max i think 4 days is plenty. We did get a bus to Woolton which is a pretty village and spent a day there where we stood in the school hall where John and Paul met and visited other Beatles points of interest. Matthew street area is really lively on the Friday evening we were there with music coming out of every bar. Book tickets in advance to see the Beatles tribute band but get there early to get a seat! The story of the Beatles museum is fascinating as it the Maritime museum (free) and the Slavery museum(also free). Shiraz do a great cooked breakfast and value for money. there is also the Cosy Club which has a good menu and a great interior. Pierre Bistro on a Weds offers 2 course with a bottle of wine each for just £26 and the food is really good. It is on 2nd floor so be careful not miss it. Cains Brewery Village has street food and a great atmosphere. Just plan it out before you go and you should be good! On the downside there seems to be a lot of homeless people in the busy areas, although they don't really bother anyone.
The cathedrals are well worth a visit; amazing architecture. Walking around the city we found lots of beautiful streets that weren't near the usual attractions. We also visited Crosby beach to see the 'iron men', a short journey by train and worth the visit. Similarly, had a good day trip to Port Sunlight; again a short train trip. Plenty of museums - we went to the Tate and a brief trip to the Liverpool Museum. If it had been raining would probably have visited Maritime museum too. We had a short trip to the Cavern Quarter after we'd eaten one night - not to be recommended. Numerous people under influence of drink/drugs and we made a hasty exit as we realised we were being followed. Probably better in daylight hours.
Fabulous place to visit. So much to see and do. Public transport was incredible. Whether bus or train, services were frequent and affordable. Open top bus was a great way of seeing the city and learning of interesting places to visit. Library; Catholic cathedral; Anglican Cathedral; Maritime museum and slavery museum; Albert Docks; philharmonic Bar We had a great time - we even got the train out to New Brighton where we had fish and chips and walked along the beach. 😊
Just wonderful. The best Eurovision hosts imaginable. Very friendly and open locals. Phantastic museums (Maritime, Beatles Story). Beautiful surroundings (docks). The only negative thing, the local transport, especially late in the evening. We depended on bus number 18 to get to our suburb accommodation, on one evening the last planned bus at 23:30 came with a tremendous delay and there was no information available as to whether it would arrive at all. Some local people waiting for it said they had been waiting at the bus stop for 3 hours. Most of them ended up taking an alternative bus, we ended up calling Uber. While getting onto the Uber, we saw the bus pass... almost empty as most passengers had found alternatives by then. The worst, the total lack of information. On the evening of the Eurovision Grand Final, there were no more busses at all, so it had to be Uber once again. Considering it was such a special event with an audience of thousands, the city could have offered special transport /extended hours to help the people get to their accommodations. Other than that, an absolute wonderful and friendly city.
I am in love with Liverpool and can’t wait to revisit. Amazing architecture, clean and the place is just buzzing with atmosphere. Visited the Royal Albert Docks, dinner on The Floating Grace around the docks; Anfield; The Greek Taverna in Bold Street and took The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour. I cannot rate these interests/places highly enough. And everything in Liverpool is within easy walking distance (though we did get a coach to and from Anfield).
Loved Liverpool! Love the fact that they convert old buildings into hotels & shops. The Docks are amazing. The Magical Mystery Tour was fab- great banter & fun. Difficult to find a restaurant in Albert Docks that don’t serve burgers & pizza- a bit more variety would be nice. Looking forward to returning to your beautiful city
The location was the main reason I booked this hotel; it is ideally placed for sightseeing, being near Albert Docks, the Pier Head etc. Walking to both cathedrals, the Walker Gallery etc. was easy but for those who find walking difficult the Metro station is underneath the hotel with trains that go to Liverpool Lime Street and also underneath the Mersey to the Wirral and Chester! Liverpool One shopping centre and restaurants are also nearby. Our room was large and there was an ironing board and iron (not that I needed them).
The location was spot on right on kings docks a stones throw away from the royal Albert docks 10 mins walk from the city centre and 15 mins drive to Anfield 20 mins walk to the ferry terminal and day trips. The liverpool Museum you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay and the car park was all in.If you stayed in the Hilton the mallmalson it was £15 to £23 a day parking on top of your hotel bill so where better to stay.Great staff great front desk especially in the morning breakfast time A+++++
the location is excellent so close to both railway and city Centre, the room was comfortable and clean with a good view down towards the Mersey, the breakfast was excellent, great choices and very good quality produce, (as a chef a hotels food quality is benchmark for me) both the dining area and the spacious bar were spotless and well appointed, I have stayed in hotels and paid double the price that were not as good as this, I am sure I will return next time I visit Liverpool.
Location is fantastic in the city centre, with staff providing plenty of recommendations to explore the city. A lovely card written to the guest is presented once checked in and Andy advised us of the best places to park as well as the discounted restaurants offered. We also received an upgrade to our room upon arrival which was a wonderful bonus! Love the general vibe with the dark decor, would certainly recommend to anybody visiting Liverpool.
Fantastic location for exploring the docks and city centre, lots of great places to eat nearby. Car parking available in nearby Q-Park with 30% discount after the hotel validate your ticket on checkout. Breakfast was great, huge variety. We were able to upgrade to an executive room with access to the executive lounge which was great! Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Would highly recommend.
Liverpool
A fabulous place to stay when visiting the city. It is in the city centre just a short walk from the docks. We had a great view of Albert Dock, the Liver Building and the River Mersey. The apartment had everything, even a washer/dryer and a dishwasher! It was immaculately clean. I would highly recommend Cove as a place to stay when visiting Liverpool.
I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights to attend a conference. This hotel was super spacious and had everything we needed. The washing facilities were fantastic, breakfast had a great amount of options and the entire hotel was sparkly clean. A clear view of the Wheel of Liverpool was a big plus! Everything was perfect. I highly recommend!
The staff themselves were very warm and inviting. The location that the hotel is in, and accompanying views, are some of the best in Liverpool. It was easy to get to the docks or to the centre of Liverpool by foot or by taxi. It was definitely a comfortable stay, in a good size room with a decent bed.
The hotel is very grand, but very run down and its a shame as it has lots of potential. The room was a decent size but had a very cheap bed, cheap pillows, the bathroom was actually the best part as it looked as if it was recently updated
Perfect from start to finish. Great location, great views, best parking I have had in a City Centre apartment and the apartment comes with everything you need to enjoy a break away. Will definitely be staying again!
The location is ideal for seeing the city centre which is fairly small (but hilly). The car parking was very welcome as the area has other hotels where parking in public car parks is more expensive and less secure,
The facilities for a budget hotel were excellent. Free Parking was available. Location excellent for walking into Liverpool City Centre and attractions. Great Terrace overlooking docks and good breakfast.
Good location close to public transport links to Liverpool City Centre. Comfy room. Good shared shower and toliet facilities. Great value for money
The location is great with the added bonus of free parking which is rare for a city centre hotel. Well situated for train links too.
Stunning property and rooms . Staff were outstanding, friendly and attentive to all needs.Best hotel in Liverpool if not England
one of the best hotels in liverpool and Clean room and good location as well, good service ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Highly recommended
