The centre was wrecked in the 1960's/70's with ghastly modern shopping area. Didn't help that the Tate modern and a couple of the museums were closed. The NT properties and Beatles tour don't start until March, The waterfront has also been spoilt by the most ugly and intrusive modern blocks

The city that gave us The Beatles says a lot about why you should visit Liverpool. The musical athmosphere is everywhere The residents are friendly, funny, and crazy about football. The city is clean and well organized. Don't miss one of the city tours - the Magical Mistery was an amazing experience, very emotional. On another note, Liverpool is very windy so be sure to have the right clothes. We fell in love with Liverpool!

Lots to see and do in Liverpool.

Lots to see and do in Liverpool. We were over for a midweek Liverpool game. We had drinks in O'Neills, great choice of drinks and lots of TVs to watch sports. We also went to Pop World, its a great place, great 80s cheesy dance music. We ate in Hannover Street Social, food was lovely and affordable. There is such a variation of restaurants on every street, great to have the choice of different foods to eat. Would definitely go back to discover more of what Liverpool has to offer!

Liverpool is a fabulouly vibrant city.

Liverpool is a fabulouly vibrant city. For Beatles fans it is a must see; the Magical Mystery Tour is well worth doing and also a great way of getting an overview of the city. There is live music every night making it a particularly dynamic city centre. Beyond all the music references, the city has excellent museums, interesting and varied architecture, a rich maritime history and is well worth a visit.

Best option in Liverpool! Unforgettable experience of living within the Beatles atmosphere! The kindness of the staff (Maria, Moe, Muhhammad) is outstanding! They provided all the support for us to have an unforgettable Christmas at this hotel. The hotel provides an immersive experience in the Beatles history, through music, posters, videos etc. The bedrooms are big and silent. The location is perfect, near the Cavern Clube, the Beatles statue, the Beatles Museum, the Beatles Story (in the docks), and a lot of good restaurants.

The hotel is in a wonderful position for the M&S Bank arena, there isn't a better hotel for going to the arena. Really well situated for anything in the Liverpool docks too. Only a 15 minute walk until you're in the heart of Liverpool City centre too. The breakfast was a high standard with a plentiful selection of hot and cold items. The rooms are spacious and have a wonderful comfy bed and the bathroom has all the toiletries you could need. Great stay, just a few little bits of cleanliness that means they only get a 9.

The hotel was everything we wished for - value for money, next to Liverpool Lime Street railway station and all the sights and conveniences of the city centre, comfortable and quite spacious rooms, good bed, warm service from Kat and her colleagues (much better than other IHG hotels we stayed at). Didn't try the breakfast, but the price is very reasonable if you book it ahead of time.

Contemporary no frills hotel in a great location. You could open windows to let in cool fresh air. Room had a small fridge, glasses, TV and tea making facilities. Room was clean and functional. It was a good base to have, while exploring Liverpool. Hotel is top end of Duke Street, so you're a nice stroll away from restaurants, bars and shopping.

The hotel is very grand, but very run down and its a shame as it has lots of potential. The room was a decent size but had a very cheap bed, cheap pillows, the bathroom was actually the best part as it looked as if it was recently updated
