We found some great places to eat and drink. We had cocktails at Panoramic 34. If you are lucky enough to get a window seat you can look out over the city from the 34th floor. The Salt House Tapas restaurant was good but busy so make sure you book. We walked around the city to see everything we wanted to see. If you are thinking of a 'hop on/hop off' bus then it's best to get on early in the day to get a seat on top deck! There are plenty of bars and cafes in the city suiting all tastes. We walked around the Albert Dock but were expecting more shops to be there but were a little disappointed to find it is mostly 'chain' eateries. The Cavern Quarter is a special area if you love the Beatles and you can pay an entrance fee to go into the Cavern Club if you want to. Lots of history in the docks area which is very interesting along with museums etc. for a 'rainy day'.
Beautiful buildings excellent shopping lots to do but couldn't find tourist info office. Not marked on street signposts. Spent hours trying to find my second nights accommodation had a basic map but that was no good and no phonr number to ring for more precise directions
City offers so much for your to do. We only had 2days so tried to start early. Did bus tour which was excellent. Really good interesting guide museum , lwalked around the dock. Loads places to stop for drink or lunch or dinner wide choice venues for dinning in the evening casual or dressed up. Good variety shops in City. Did not do the Beetles bus tour. My daughter and neice asked who are they. Can only apologise for their shoddy upbringing. I would do City bus tour first. This might give you more ideas places you want to visit We eat at Italian restaurant dinner cant remember name it was okay nothing special. We had breakfast at Brown's i had full English it arrived cold but I did not complain. So they did not have chance to put things right. The girls loved Liverpool ❤ they started to look at property to rent/buy.
Take the blue route Beatles bus tour it’s fabulous. Definitely visit the 2 cathedrals, Albert docks, cavern club is so much fun. Cosmo for buffet food was incredible value for money, Miller and Carter was delicious down in the Albert Dock.
Great friendly place loads to do and see. Great Museums to look around and there are free most of them. A must is the open top bus tour that was very good and of course you have to do the ferry on the Mersey.
I grew up in Liverpool but have not lived there for years. It's a great city and people are generally more friendly than in other parts of the UK. Keith's Wine Bar on Lark Lane is a favourite old haunt. We loved walking round the shops in town (lovely cake at the Bluecoat and great records in Probe). We had nice tapas in Lunya, and the area around Liverpool One was buzzing and fun. With more time, we'd have visited some of the art galleries and museums. We enjoyed drinks in the ornate Philharmonic pub and dinner in the The London Carriage Works (though thought the latter was not great value).
The location was the main reason I booked this hotel; it is ideally placed for sightseeing, being near Albert Docks, the Pier Head etc. Walking to both cathedrals, the Walker Gallery etc. was easy but for those who find walking difficult the Metro station is underneath the hotel with trains that go to Liverpool Lime Street and also underneath the Mersey to the Wirral and Chester! Liverpool One shopping centre and restaurants are also nearby. Our room was large and there was an ironing board and iron (not that I needed them).
Room was incredibly small. No hot water in shower, when there was in the adjacent sink. Car park was really small for number of rooms in hotel, came back from dinner and several idiots had spaced their parking out to take up 1-1/2 widths with 1 car. The hotel does NOT mark the parking area with painted lines. Staff was nice, working with crappy facility, Breakfast was fine. Being the Friday night before Eurovision Finale, the pricing was Highway robbery but that was true all over Liverpool.
We recently stayed at The Resident Liverpool and had a fantastic stay. The location was ideal for everything we had planned, with the city centre and the docks just a short walk away. We booked a small double and were pleasantly surprised by the size and amenities this room came with. The kitchenette was a brilliant element as it allowed us to store and prepare our own food during the stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else visiting Liverpool.
Liverpool
Best hostel in Liverpool. Cheap. Clean. Comfortable. Staff are always lovely and now recognise me when I turn up. Hostel room I had didn’t have bunks. Extra bonus, no concussion 😂. Each bed has a plug and a lamp, other guests in room were friendly. wish they had places on Saturday as the hotel I picked wasn’t half as nice as this one. Close to city centre right near Bold street. Perfect for me as I stay here for gigs and shows. Defo will be back.
A lovely stroll away to Albert Docks and the amenities in Liverpool City Centre. Being slightly East of the City Centre allows for a smooth entry/exit to the M62. Quiet location. Rooms cleaned daily and tea/coffee/biscoff topped up, which is not often found in the tourism industry. More than likely to use the hotel again for future visits to Liverpool.
It is a huge hotel that must have been very grand in it’s day. it still has most of the period features, so it feels very historic- or that you are sleeping on a film set. It’s also right in the centre of Liverpool - which means that you can experience all of the trappings of the The North’s greatest city after a short 45 minute train journey to Manchester.
Clean comfortable bed Staff helful Car parking great 11.00 for one night when stay at hotel if went to explore Liverpool nexts day ask keep your car in car park for extra charge of £11 a day very good value condering other car parks so costly in Liverpool City centre it's close to Liverpool one Albert docks great view looking over river Mersey
Everything from the moment we arrived. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room and hotel was spotless. Food was excellent. It was central and would highly recommend. I have been in Liverpool numerous times for matches over the years and this hotel is by far the best that I have stayed at. I will be going back in the future
The room was brilliant, excellent views of the docks. The location was great, great access into the city centre. Breakfast was well organised and the option to take back to the room was great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Had a fantastic stay and will be returning. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Liverpool.
Liverpool
the cleanser was very kind, it’s a good place for a short stay in Liverpool , bus is only half an hour from the city centre for £2 which is not bad, tesco is a 5 minutes walk and you can enjoy plenty of tea and coffee at home , the kitchen is always free so you can sit there if you need some work with your laptop
Wonderful, friendly staff. Great beds and fantastic breakfast. The restaurant overlooks historic, vintage aircraft. Nice bonus. Loads of buses outside of hotel for Liverpool City centre. Cheap one day pass at £4.50. Two large shopping centres nearby too.
The room was of an ok size and the hotel was in a good location - right in the city centre, accessible to most shops and restaurants. The bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and my room was cleaned and tidied everyday.
The staff were very friendly and approachable. The check in went smoothly, and the receptionist ordered a taxi for me. Room size was great for the price and the hotel is a short walk away from the city centre.
Great value for money. Good location - close to the historical docks and 15 mins walk from the city centre. The hotel meets the overall quality standards of "Hampton by Hilton".
Lovely, clean hotel. Great room, comfy bed, great amenities. Loved the breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Definitely our go-to place in Liverpool from now on.
City centre location was perfect. The bar was great and the theme throughout the hotel was on point.
loved the hotel, lovely room, so spacious and perfect location for the docks and city centre.
