Excellent hotel, perfectly placed for visiting Liverpool and exploring the sights. It is opposite the Philharmonic Hall, if you are at a concert and it is a late finish, this hotel is ideal for you. Beds are very comfortable, choice of pillows, lovely bathroom products in individual bottles, and good quality Breakfast is continental, £10, plenty of fresh fruit, cereal yogurts, fresh pastries and unlimited tea or coffee.. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Lime Street station. The hop on hop off bus stops outside. The staff are very helpful. Definitely a place to stay.

Albert's Schoss was perfect for breakfast.

Albert's Schoss was perfect for breakfast. Not crowded and the food looked and tasted incredible. Want to come back and experience their nightlife as the bar was stocked and the decor unique. We had dinner at Salt and the food was delicious with the tastes bursting. Staff so attentive and helpful. Went for an after dinner drink at St Peter's Church. The renovations maintained the solemnity of the church while opening it up to more guests. We walked around the Beatles area, the waterfront and the shopping areas. Only stayed a day and could have wandered around longer as we hadn't even touched on the historic buildings.

I can remember Southport when Lord Street was filled with...

I can remember Southport when Lord Street was filled with wonderful shops and cafe's. Unfortunately it is now a sad reflection of what it used to be and lovely buildings are showing signs of decay. Thankfully some effort has been made to keep the water front up to scratch.

1/10 Originally not a bad review. However..Have changed review to 1 as we have been given a parking ticket for £100 2 weeks later! Reception were unhelpful. We definitely logged car in at reception. No confirmation email found so it's our problem. We have used Mercure here and other locations before without problems. Never again .

Lovely welcoming staff in what is not dissimilar to a TravelLodge or Premier Inn-style hotel. The food is basic but good value. They obviously serve families on a regular basis and there are facilities for children's play outside or for parties inside.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely comfy bed. Room was big enough with a shower; and kettle tea/coffe provided. Beautiful old building just wish I had time to explore the grounds. Really easy to get to from Whiston hospital which was a bonus.

Prescot is amazing if you are going for the new playhouse experience, otherwise it does not have a lot to recommend it....we had an ok meal at Pinion, service very slow, and the meals were not quite right as ordered...it's about half an hour by train from Liverpool....

We stayed at Knowsley as it was much more cost effective...

We stayed at Knowsley as it was much more cost effective than 2 nights in similar accommodation in Liverpool. We were down for the Everton Man City game. Unfortunately neither of us drive and as buses don't Service the hotel at the weekend meant we had to rely on taxis. For anyone who drives the location is not a problem though. Visited a few of the local hostelries. Copperpot, Derby Arms and Vikings Landing all were very friendly places with good service. Prices for drinks are favourable compared to other cities.
