The position of the shower unit in the bathroom. Getting out of it was a nightmare and in my opinion very dangerous

We stayed in the upgraded lodge and it was wonderful, a huge comfy bed, free sky tv and wifi, good shower, walk in wardrobe and separate make up room! The food was excellent, with two vegetarian choices each night and for breakfast homemade vegetarian sausages, never had this in a hotel before anywhere. Friendly and attentative staff.

The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, so may need a car

Excellent service. Attentive without being intrusive. Very good food, well presented. Comfortable lounge area. Beautiful grounds and quiet location but still close to the centre of Pitlochry. Bedroom very comfortable and spotlessly clean

This is a magnificent country house hotel with all the elegance of a bygone age. Exuding comfort and homeliness, the hotel provides an unforgettable guest experience. Delicious breakfasts served by waiters in the light and spacious dining room were a particular delight. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout. The hotel also benefits from beautiful gardens and allocation which ensures quiet and serenity. Absolutely delightful!

It would have been good to have Wi-Fi in the rooms as well as in the public areas. People use devices for a variety of purposes, some of which require the device to produce sound, which would be inappropriate in the elegant surroundings of the hotel lounge.

Nice setting the hotel is a lovely tradional Scottish layout the staff are very pleasant and the breakfast choice is second to none well worth getting up for

The bar area is very nice and pleasant but my only complaint is I wish you could get a lager on draught as at the moment you can only get bottled beer

On impulse, we decided to have a couple of days away and the deal offered in this hotel at the last moment seemed excellent. We had booked a suite and the room we got was massive, internally divided by a wooden partition. It had been the original drawing room when the house was a domestic building. The hotel was a lovely old building with a character of its own; the inner decor was of rich mature wood. The location of the hotel was very handy for the town, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The food was of a high standard and was beautifully cooked and well presented, particularly as the set three-course meal was only £25.50. We had booked bed & breakfast to leave ourselves the option of eating elsewhere, however the weather focussed us on staying at the hotel and that turned out to be fortuitously excellent. There was a very good choice of breakfasts from cereals, fruit and yoghourts through to a variety of cooked options. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and the ingredients fresh. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and smiled....

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side - it rained non-stop over the two nights and three days we were there - that, however, was not the hotel's fault. There seemed to be extensive grounds to explore, but..... I would have liked a wider and better choice of beers in the bar.

    Staff Ambience

Classic Victorian hotel but could use a freshen up in decor and furnishings without destroying ambience. Meal times inflexible.Relatively expensive although currently a seller's market.

I loved everything about this hotel. The grounds were stunning and the room was HUGE! We stayed in a standard double room, with a luxurious bathroom and a large walk in wardrobe, which was a wonderful bonus. The staff are lovely, very warm and welcoming with nothing being a hassle. The food was amazing and the menu changes everyday for dinner so you're never stuck for choice. Our stay there was so good we are booking again very soon for an even longer stay. Wonderful hotel!

There was nothing that I didn't like about this hotel.
