Room was gorgeous, nicely laid out, cleanliness impeccable, especially the bathroom. Lovely grounds. Close to Durham. Helpful staff
Room a little chilly. Duvet quite thin. Ordered breakfast to room and it was freezing on arrival.
Every thing was of a high standard and quality
The hotel it's self had a lovely atmosphere, the communal areas and gardens are great and bar poured a nice pint.
We stayed in a room that warned before you 'may' hear some noise from the function room below, MAY! That was the biggest understatement I may has well had my bed on the dance floor! it was ridiculous. Make sure you book a quiet room unless you are out until late.
Free Wifi Good, clean facilities Friendly reception staff
Wifi kept "dropping out" Menu not on table, difficult to find staff Room was cold - there were no instructions as to how to use heating
Large clean comfy room
Expensive food in restaraunt
Everything about hotel staff require training on how to help and treat customers with resoect
We upgraded our room and was worth every penny. The bathroom was beautiful with an extra large bath very deep and lovely complimentary bathrobes. The food was a solid 10/10 we went on a Sunday and got the food offer which was£30 for 2 steaks and a bottle of wine! Worth every penny !
The hotel has a homely feel to it, helped greatly by the attentive staff. The facilities are good but will be much improved when the new spa opens later this year.
Every thing, the hotel, staff & facilities were perfect.
Nothing not too like.
Good location next to motorway, close to Durham City, quiet, comfortable.
WiFi reception in room intermittent and very slow, even though the room was next to reception where wifi is usually better. Room cleaner did not replace shampoo. Breakfast manager abrupt when arrived 2 minutes early for breakfast and told me I would have to wait until everything was set up - I was not upset by the wait, just the rudeness of this member of staff. Other staff charming
Everything I needed was either in my room or a phone call away. The staff are very friendly and the deluxe room I was given (only paid for standard) was amazing with a four poster bed and patio doors to a fantastic view of the grounds.
Grill room atmosphere & food very good quality & a wide variety to suit all tastes. Bedroom & bathroom well appointed.
Carvery a bit dated & service not especially good however bar staff efficient & friendly.
Friendly staff, beautiful setting, food lovely I would recommend this hotel for a weekend away. Original room was not at an acceptable standard but reception staff offered an upgrade without hesitation straight away
Original superior room booked was a little shabby - dated poor decor
Bedroom was nice and clean. Room service was good as was food.
Bathroom door was see through with toilet adjacent to the door, made for incredibly awkward situations. Also bathroom door van be unlocked from other side (very bad when you have a over stimulated boyfriend). Dog barking in another room was also very annoying early in the morning. Patio door would not open fully. Bad food for vegan / vegetarians. The sauna shower wouldn't warm up.
Location food service very comfortable bed
Amazing place to stay . Staff friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Food in the rib room fantastic ...
fantastic food in the Grill Room
Found a empty bottle of beer under bed, (would never of known but child dropped a toy under). That was the only small detail. The rest of the room was immaculate and the bed super comfy.
The rooms were very comfortable and the shower was really powerful. Free fruit and milk in the rooms was a bonus. The rooms were a good size. The restaurant at the hotel was a real treat, lovely food. Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we loved the space down stairs with so many comfortable chairs to sit and relax in. Very cosy indeed.
We felt that there were too few staff at meal times in the carvery. We had to wait a long time for plates to be cleared and for tea/coffee at breakfast. Also felt breakfast was expensive and that paying £12.50 for children's breakfast was pricey. We did argue this and they agreed to lower the price.
Excellent steak restaurant. Excellent facilities. Friendly staff. We have stayed in this hotel several times in the recent past with no problems.
Unlike previous rooms we have stayed in, this time our "Superior" room had a very narrow and soft double bed. Also the room did not have a garden view as promised in the Booking.com description. These rooms should be reclassified as "Standard" rooms until the beds are upgraded.
Very nice room and a relaxing atmosphere, we're looking forward to the spar being open.
Wifi connection wasn't great, ok for browsing but couldn't watch video.
Room was really comfortable nice decor
Bar staff members kept charging different prices for same drinks Guinness wasn't pouring right but staff didn't seem to know what to do had to ask for ice in drinks also
Bedrooms inc bathrooms were excellent and have clearly been upgraded recently. Restaurant (Rib Room) was busy and steak was good. Need a few more wines in the selection.
The money spent on updating the hotel must be significant so I am surprised the pillows were so poor. Our fellow travellers also commented on how uncomfortable they were
Everything, we were here for a wedding and the food, service and comfort of the hotel was first class. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Well done Ramside
