Go left out of the front door and within 3 minutes you are on Newry Esplanade, with its variety of little sand/shingle beaches and rock pools. If you are coming with a dinghy/canoe you can launch directly off the beach. Perhaps enjoy a picnic or ice cream in the sunken gardens. This is a great spot for walkers with the beautiful Breakwater Country Park and Holyhead Mountain at the end of the esplanade. You may be lucky and spot seals and encounter the semi wild Welsh ponies along the coastal path.
