Built at the turn of the century, The "Springs" is located in an acre of quiet garden on the outskirts of the historic village of Lydford within The Dartmoor National Park. Lydford is home to a spectacular gorge and waterfall and has excellent restaurants and various historic inns which cater for all tastes. It is well placed for walkers or simply for those travelling onwards to Cornwall. We offer a warm and welcoming stay here at The Springs B & B in Lydford Devon and go out of our way to make our guests feel special and 'at home' as soon as they arrive. We offer a free taxi service to the nearest pub,The Fox and Hounds Hotel, where they serve delicious food and drinks at very reasonable prices. If our guests wish to go a little further into Lydford village, they will find The Castle Inn Hotel, which is famous for The Hound Of The Baskervilles legend. We have found that this especially helpful for cyclists or for guests that would like to leave their cars on our driveway and have the convenience of being taken and collected at their leisure. There is also a bus stop immediately outside our property which allows guests to visit Tavistock and Plymouth for a days shopping.

Hi...this is Margaret Wray. I am a grandmother to three lovely granddaughters. I am a keen swimmer and use the local pool as often as possible. In my spare time, I love reading, walking, and the cinema. My husband and I have a holiday home in Goa India, where we love to visit to soak up the sunshine. We have many Goan friends with whom we spend a lot of time. We also have a jeep and like to travel around the rest of India which is very interesting. We also have a boat that my husband has refurbished and is now ready for launching.

Lydford village has much history to offer. There is an old Saxon castle, The Castle Inn Hotel and St Petrocs church which has beautiful wooden carvings at the alter. You can wander around inside the church at your leisure. In fact Lydford once produced its own silver coinage and has a street named after is called "Silver Street". For bicycle enthusiasts Lydford is on the Route 27 cycle path.
