Good reception staff .well presented tasty food, excellent breakfast.tasteful decor, handy location.
Room was too warm windows didn't open.waitress service not good, our starter plates weren't cleared away and our main course forgotten completely! Although we did get a discount,it meant that we were eating rather late in the evening.
Friendliness of most of the staff - a real Yorkshire welcome. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Quiet location. A real bit of luxury without the usual costs - could teach some of the big hotels a thing or two!
Staff in restaurant in the evening - very casual approach - everything seemed too much trouble - a real contrast to the rest of the staff - perhaps they need some further training.
The superb cleanliness of the hotel, bedding, pillows, duvet, mattress all spotless. a huge bed, sooo comfortable, had a superb nights sleep I don't usually sleep very well on my first night away from home. A massive shower head, toiletries and fluffy bathrobes all included. At £80 for bed and breakfast great value. We just had a bowl of chips each in the evening as we had been out for afternoon tea earlier and couldn't have done justice to an evening meal. The chips were some of the best I have ever had(apart from my own) home made, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. We also had a small fridge in the room with bottled water left for us, I would imagine this would be a boon in hot weather and a nice touch. Hotel situated in an ideal spot for Ilkley town. Breakfast was great, all cooked fresh, and your usual fruit juices, fresh fruit and cereals to start. I think this is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in, you usually get some noise during the night, doors banging and voices heard etc, although our room was right over the bar we never heard a thing.Staff friendly and helpful. A good Yorkshire welcome. We shall most certainly return here for another short break in the future.
There was absolutely nothing we did not like.
Very pleasant hotel, nicely decorated with modern fixtures and fittings. The food at the hotel was excellent. It was close to the moor and town but far enough away to be quiet
The bedroom was compact and the shower fixture did not work, the tap came off in our hand! It was made to work by the staff but not the way it was designed! The path to the room was very convoluted, going up and down stairs and around several corners to the room, which wasn't easy with heavy luggage.
Room Staff Quality of food Location Balcony
Friendly staff, good bar snacks. A busy day but everyone coped well.
The hotel design is beautiful (interior & exterior), the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in room 12 which we highly recommend. The breakfast menu was very diverse. The bar on the entrance floor is fun, active and really great. Would love to go back!
That we weren't there longer! (oh, and the water in the shower was a little too hot.)
The location was good, the place was quiet & friendly. It was fabulous to see dogs allowed in the bar. The food & local ale was great. We had a wonderful stay & would highly recommend it to others.
The wi-fi wouldn't work.
General atmosphere within the hotel was very good. Well supported by locals. Food good with good choice of good beers.
Having to leave
Best breakfast ever. Bril sheets on bed, great fast wifi great power shower, plenty of free parking good service and real ale. free cakes on check in. great staff.
Decor, comfort of rooms and beds, food
Bedroom a bit hot at night. It's in the attic.
The bed was the biggest and comfiest we've ever slept in. The room was very nicely furnished with a huge free-standing bath and extras such as fridge, bathrobes and luxury flapjacks. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and the quality of the food we had in the restaurant excellent. We're already planning a return visit.
Nothing to dislike.
Good value rooms, everything you would want. Cookies etc were a nice touch
Bit tricky to find!
We were warmly welcomed, well fed with delicious breakfasts and a wide choice of interesting and varied courses for lunch and dinner. We particularly liked the comfortable chairs in the lounge areas. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and relaxing.
Unfortunately one of the waiting staff was not up to speed and forgot part of our order. Maybe use of a writing pad would help her to get the order right every time!
Excellent car park. Excellent Breakfast. Efficient bar staff.
A lift would be useful. Shortage of staff at breakfast time.
Comfortable clean atmosphere was was welcoming. Nothing to much trouble.
Nothing will visit again! Having to leave.
lovely room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. would stay again
to be so close to ilkely moor and the wonderful views from there
window in loft room quite small so was quite dark
ARRIVED LATE ON SUNDAY. NO HOT FOOD AVAILABLE BUT STAFF ORGANISED SOME SANDWICHES SO THANKS.
NOTHING SPECIFIC.PUBLIC AREAS UPSTAIRS COULD DO WITH UPDATE.
Very clean, food good and location excellent for the Yorkshire Dales.
The room above the bar was exceedingly noisy until 11:15PM. Sleep was not possible. When I made my concerns, she said Internet Bookings get this room, # 5, at a reduced rate. This room should be noted when booking on the Internet.
it was fine
We had a beautiful room which had amazing views, the comfiest bed, great shower and free standing bath. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. We thought it was very good value for money. I have already recommended to friends and can't wait to come back!
No negative comments to give.
Really lovely hotel, good staff, food, parking. Unigue rooms well designed. 4 minutes to railway station to visit leeds. beautiful countryside all around.
don't go to piccolinos italian restaurant in ilkley - salty over priced food. wheatley arms food is good.
The staff, Food and ambiance were excellent
The room was riduculously hot and only had a small window that could be opened. A bigger opening window is essential as it was too hot to sleep comfortably. We had a 65 mile charity bike ride the next day which we had to start with no breakfast! we explained this requirement and were promised a pre 8.00AM Sunday access to the breakfast buffet but all the doors were locked and we had to leave our key on a windowsill as we could not get anyone's attention at 7.45 AM ( a good job we had settled up the previous evening!)
cannot fault the hotel and staff
when I came to leave on the Friday morning the 29th Aug. a Thwaites delivery truck was wainting in the car park blocking me in. on asking them to move I was told they were on their break and would not move it. they only had to move alittle to let me out.
