Pyrgos Psilonerou is located 16 km west of the city of Chania, between the villages of Gerani and Maleme and just 5 km prom Platanias. The nearest beach is only 200 m away, it is not organized and is mainly preferred by the locals because of the clear waters and the gray sand mixed with fine and coarse pebbles. Also, the beach is an important nesting site for the caretta caretta sea turtle. The hatching and emergence of sea turtle eggs are unique and rare nocturnal spectacles in which, if you are lucky enough to witness, we would recommend not to interfere.
