Very close to Florence, Casa al Miglio is a recently renovated traditional farmhouse in the green quiet of the countryside. Florence is always crowded by tourists and congested by traffic, and in summer it is also very hot. But here you’ll enjoy a peaceful stay and a pleasant cool weather! Surrounded by a garden full of flowers and by meadows where fireflies shine in summer, the house is equipped with every comfort, but it still retains something of its history and character: the old fireplace, the ceilings with wooden beams, traditional furniture in the rooms. In the morning, you can hear the rooster crowing in the chicken coop, and from your windows you can see the sheep grazing in the shade of old oaks. Ideal for those traveling by car, the apartment has three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen with dining table, an entrance-living room, a leisure area in the garden reserved for our guests equipped with table, chairs, deck chairs, umbrella. Free parking close to the apartment. Florence is just 20 minute drive, and can also be easily reached using public transport. On the way to the city, you’ll find convenient free parking near to the bus stops.
Welcome to Casa al Miglio! My name is Maria Adele and I have been living for forty years in this house in the countryside, where I used to share beautiful moments with friends, and where my son and daughter grew up. The apartment has recently been thoroughly renovated for our kids. As long as they are far from home for study or work, we are happy to offer it to our guests. I live with my husband, a dog and a cat in an independent part of the same building, thus you can easily contact us in case of any need. In another independent portion of the house lives a family of close friends of ours, with whom we get along very well. I love reading, listening to music, singing. I like stories and walks in nature. I am passionate about plants, which for many years used also to be the object of my work. Now that I am retired and the children are independent, opening the apartment next to ours to our guests is also a way to meet people and know their stories.
Casa al Miglio is about 500 m from the village of Pratolino, where you’ll find shops, services, bank, post office, pharmacy, cafe, restaurant, ATM, but also a Medieval church, Villa Demidoff with its Medici garden (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a ‘Parco Avventura’ (‘Adventure Park’) for kids. The house is an excellent starting point to reach Florence, even using public transport. Urban and suburban buses arriving downtown in less than 30 minutes can be taken in Pratolino or on the way to the city, where wide free parking lots are available close to the bus stops. Around the house, Monte Senario with its ancient monastery surrounded by green fresh forests, and Monte Morello, with its wooded slopes crossed by a rich network of trails. To the north lies the green valley of Mugello, with its centers rich in history, art, traditional crafts and cooking: San Piero a Sieve, Scarperia, Borgo san Lorenzo, Dicomano, Vicchio and others. In the background you can see the Apennine mountains. The Autodromo del Mugello (Mugello Circuit, 23 km away) and the Barberino Outlet with its 120 shops (22 km) can be reached by car in less than half an hour.
