Hotel Villa SchulerPiazzetta Bastione / Via Roma, 98039 Taormina (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 136 reviews“From the friendly reception with a complimentary fresh orange juice to the garden view room with its own balcony we really enjoyed staying at the Villa Schuler. The hotel is very close to the centre with its sights, shopping and restaurants. A waitress served breakfast on the terrace with views to the coast and Etna was a delight. To have a lovely garden as well to sit in and stroll through was an unexpected bonus”

I think it is the best location in Taormina. Very weel organised staff, everybody was friendly, helpfull and responsive. In the reception we got all information what we had asked and some tips how to arrive there or go to the Etna, etc. Well organised breakfest.

The helpful multi lingual staff and the cleanliness everywhere. Excellent breakfast served on the terrace overlooked by Mount Etna and looking down at the sea.The free WiFi in our room and the welcome basket of fruit and bottle of local wine for us on arrival. I loved using the glass lift with views of the garden. Being able to get a very early breakfast before leaving for airport. The rooftop terrace and the sun loungers.

A small luxury hotel with superb views over the bay right in the centre of Taormina, it would be hard to better the location. In November, be prepared for unreliable weather but it did not detract from our enjoyment.

Wonderful position with a terrace overlooking the sea and a delightful garden at the back. Staff were friendly and professional and breakfast excellent. My only quibbles were that the bed was too firm for my liking and it would have been nice to have had an armchair in my room.

My wife and I have just spent a week staying at the Hotel Villa Schuler in Taormina. It is a beautifully restored 19thC villa with fine public spaces in which there are carefully selected paintings or prints of Taormina and the surrounding areas. The terrace, where one can have breakfast or take afternoon tea, overlooks the Bay of Naxos and has one of the finest views in Taormina. The hotel’s garden, at the rear, as does Florence Trevelyan’s garden near the Teatro Greco, now a parco communale, has a fine collection of local and international plants as well as goldfish, a tortoise and a cat. Our bedroom, furnished in a refined manner with modernist touches, had a balcony overlooking the Bay which in turn is an inlet of the Ionian Sea, so one could see the passing shipping. The hotel staff, multi-lingual, friendly and efficient, were everything one could have wanted. In short it is a perfect place to stay in Taormina.

Very clean, efficient family run business. Located in a nice villa with an interesting history and spectacular breakfast terrace. Staff friendly in an efficient way but needed more engagement and warmth.

Hotel villa schuler (Taormina) is all about location, location, location. Only a few steps uphill to the main street of Taormina. Classy inside and out, excellent service, good size terrace/breakfast room with extensive menu for included breakfast (try the crepes), many balconies, decks, terraces to use.We were given an excellent ac room overlooking lavish gardens in the back(better than a waterview) with a private terrace, lounge chairs and even a discreet clothesline. Paying an extra E15/day to park was surprising for such an expensive hotel, (only 1 “free” parking spot) but our rental car was safe inside under the bldg. RussoPepponcino Hosteria Sicula was a great restaurant nearby. Glad to see solar panels carefully hidden on HVS’s roof. Free Wi-FI was absurdly slow, although you could use the hotel computer in the basement if needed. Difficult to book without a lot of advance reservation. Taormina parking is crazy but it was very expensive to park at the Schuller.

Beautiful hotel with a substantial botanical garden located in the heart of Taormina (less than a minute to the main shopping street of Via Umberto). The breakfast on the outdoor terrace overlooking the sea will be a lasting memory for us. Truly a gem of a hotel with very kind staff, we will return to Hotel Villa Schuler, hopefully sooner than later!

The staff and location were excellent. The breakfast was great and service very attentive. We recommend this hotel very much. We booked this hotel and a room for the view and paid more for a Junitor Suite with Terrace. However, these rooms have solid block walls arround the terrace which do not allow you to appreciate the view while relaxing on the terrace. So, I recommend getting a regular seaview room for the view and the terrace only if you want some semi-privacy from below if you sun bathe. So we did not linger on the terrace to enjoy the view. This is not a complaint, but we suggest that the hotel clarify this somehow in their room descriptions.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Excellent in every way. Amazing breakfasts. Beautiful views. Cleaniness. Helpfulness from the moment you step through the front door. It is very difficult to share this as you really would like to keep it a secret, its that good.

Excellent hotel. Lovely rooms. Great service. Great location. I would definitely stay here again. Despite what website says there are only 2 free parking spots and they are allocated on first come basis. There is private parking which hotel staff organise effortlessly for guests but it costs 15 euro per day

Excellent location, very close to all amenities yet with an air of seclusion and with private gardens. Friendly and efficient staff with excellent linguistic skills. 24 hour reception area. Our junior suite had an open verandah with optional shading which proved to be very useful. Overall very pleased with our choice.

The room was spacious and very clean. After a mis-understanding for breakfast, the manager and staff went out of their way to recify this. Truly admirable. Elderly couples may find it quite hard to climb up the steps to the main street in Taormina, but a more less tiring way is through the hotel garden.

The hotel location is excellent especially for those travelling by car since garage device is available. The staff is very disposed to assist. The breakfast was excellent and having it on the terrace is a huge bonus. The view is magnificent. The noise at night of some bar coming from a distance is a slight nuisance, however the shutters avoid most of the noise. the hotel is not to blame because it is not on their grounds. .
