Grasslands Bed & Breakfast was setup to give guests relaxation in comfort. Our Orchard and Bluegrass rooms feature electric privacy blinds which allow you to see outside during daylight whilst maintaining privacy. For those who enjoy technology, each room has an Amazon Echo voice driven assistant which doubles as an alarm clock and bluetooth speaker. Jalena and Brendon, your hosts, have travelled extensively and recently returned from Berlin, after spending 15 years working in the UK, EU and China. Jalena is from Auckland, Brendon from the Waikato, so you can find plenty of opinion on whether country or city living is best!

Cambridge is blessed with trees, parks and gardens, making it great for picnics, quiet strolls, celebrating a wedding or holding a major event. It has two of the country's most beautiful waterways and exciting water activities - the 'Mighty' Waikato River and Lake Karapiro with swimming, rowing, kayaking, jet boating, skiing, cruising and fishing available to all. Fast becoming a hub for high performance sport, in 2013 Cambridge became the National Home of Cycling for all four disciplines of the sport - indoor, road, BMX and mountain biking - with the world class international Avantidrome velodrome built beside St Peters School and the Golf Academy. This year we host the World Masters Games alongside other events such as the National Fieldays, Balloons over Waikato and even the Lions Rugby team are touring. Cambridge is the Equine Capital of New Zealand and some of the world's best racehorses have been bred here while many thoroughbred and standardbred trainers are based in the district.
