Lovely space at the rear of the accommodation, large area of lawn fronting onto a lake. Some great freshly baked muffins and a generous range of breakfast choices. Room was completely private and quiet.
Arrived a bit before check-in time (4pm), the place looked deserted and the phone was switched to voice-mail. By 4.30pm I was ready to give up and try and find a hotel when another guest turned up (also not booked in) and advised us to wait because they knew the owner would arrive. So we went off for an early dinner and we were ok when we returned. Hopefully this doesn't happen often. No view from our room, a bit compact. Breakfast area compact as well. To access any shops have to drive a modest distance across main road.
A family home with garden going down to the lake. Self contained area with 3 bedrooms, well stocked kitchen and sitting room. We occupied two of the bedrooms, two couples travelling together, the other room was empty. A feeling of being valued guests, fridge stocked, excellent breakfast. Owners personality came across in the decorations and attention to detail.
very comfortable stay. kitchen well stocked and accessible. beautiful location
the accommodations were vey comfortable, the breakfast more than adequate, amenities plentiful, location very picturesque
I tried to contact the owner a couple of times to confirm our reservation prior to leaving home. No response. I tried email to confirm the reservation. No response. I finally contacted booking.com and explained the situation. While I remained on the line, booking.com contacted the owner who answered their call immediately and confirmed our reservation. not sure why she would not answer my calls or email.
Location and decor is great.
Bed was comfortable and pillows were awful. We had to leave at 7 am so I understand I can't complain about the breakfast not cooked. We had choices, juices, toast, muffins, cereal, yogurts and coffee. I haven't stayed in a B & B for years, but when I did the owner always made a very nice breakfast. This place was small there was another guest who came in late so maybe they were served a nice breakfast. For $170 I don't think it was worth it.
The hostess was nice, but once she collected our payment, we didn't see her again.
Up until we got to Alaska, B&B's were always a pleasure. Twice now, the breakfast was just a fix it yourself arrangement with no service attached at all. If I knew I'd have to cook and do dishes, I'd have stayed at a hotel with a restaurant. I'm on vacation! I didn't expect plastic wrapped, cheap pastries for breakfast. Yuck!
Home away from home. The owners are really nice and the kitchen is always stocked with juices and sweets. At the same time, we did a privacy we wanted
carol was a wonderful host. The space was large and view wonderful.
Staff was accommodating when a reservation was mistakenly listed for an upstairs room, they switched rooms for us. Pretty location on a lake, although being very close to the amenities in Wasilla. Continental breakfast items were available in the downstairs kitchen area.
Private bathroom was not actually in the room (down a short hall). There was no "additional hot breakfast dishes" provided when we stayed, which was during the listed "June 1st and August 15th, additional hot breakfast dishes are provided".
Location, cleanliness, comfort.
First day's breakfast was quite a spread but the next day was quite light in comparison. But still tasted very good.
What is there not to like? The house and grounds are well kept. Our room had a separate entrance with a large sitting room and private bath. The decor throughout the house was of a "cottage" motif, done in a tasteful manner. Carol, the proprietor, was extremely helpful and gracious. Her breakfasts were excellent and the guest-dinning table provided opportunities for guest to become acquainted. It was a nice experience.
The large backyard, solitude, and down-home felling.
The bathtub was very slippery, and VERY slow to drain.
Room was fabulous, breakfast was great (not just pastries etc). Stayed 3 nights and the last when we told her we would be leaving before breakfast, she said she would pack us "to go" boxes and put in frig for us! In the morning 2 were there, and they were packed!!! Awesome place to stay, and great views too!
Not one thing we didn't like!!!
This house is very well maintained, such as beautiful flowers, huge green grass, next to the lake, hot breakfast, and beautiful home made decorations.
The door to the kitched was locked during the night, therefore, I could not drink water or coffee, and rinsed my mouth with my hands after brushing because there were no cup in my room. Can you unlock the door to the kitchen, or put the cups in the room?
We loved the lake view from the dock. We were only there one night, but there was a small kitchen to use, if you stayed longer and wanted to prepare your own lunch or dinner. Accommodations were very clean and the breakfast was homemade and delicious!
We liked the view of lake Lucille and the outside yard. The food was very good. The accommodations and the reception was very friendly. Even the visitors were friendly in the home style setting.
There was not enough visible signage on the main street and we needed to get directions twice before finding Lake Lucille. This BB is not visible from the main street and my cell phone would not work. We did not like the three sets of stairs to get to our room. We were under the impression from pictures of the accommodations that we were on the main floor of a single unit, like others. We are senior citizens with heavy luggage. And I have a bad hip and leg that prevented me from going down to the lake as often as I would have liked. Next time I reserve a BB I will ask what floor the rooms are on and where is the bathroom. Thanks for letting us share our views.
Good facilities! It's like home.
My husband was skeptical about staying at a bed and breakfast. This was our first experience at one. He was very pleased and we would go back again. The owner was very pleasant and breakfast was wonderful.
Very clean and nice cabins, a great breakfast with a big variety od Eggs and a great view over the lake to the mountains :)
We loved our stay. Everything was comfortable and our host was so helpful and friendly. We loved meeting the other guest and enjoying a wonderful breakfast each morning. For all travelers looking to stay in the Wasilla area you will not be sorry you choose Alaska's Lake Lucille B & B. Shelia Mtn Home, AR
The house and grounds are lovely. It reminded me of my meticulous grandmothers house. Very cozy and warm feeling. Carol and her daughter were so friendly. She has so many cute little things she has made. She gave us a cute ornament she made and we had her sign and date it. We were looking for an ornament to buy as a souvenir of Alaska but none of them had been anything special. I was so pleased when she gave me the little ornament she had made. We took a stroll to the lake. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and plants. The lake was so peaceful. Make sure you bring your bugspray. Mosquitos are abuntant. Breakfast was delicious and hot at 8:30. ;) thank you Carol for making us feel so welcome.
Everything about the place! I'd go back in a minutes notice if I had some time left on the vacation. Seriously considering going back next summer.
No complaints at all.
On the lake. Beautiful grounds.
