It was in such a convenient location. Room was much more than I anticipated for the low rate we paid. I would definitely stay here again, it's a pleasant surprise how clean and comfortable things were because we were anticipating so much less because of the very reasonable price. I don't know that I'd stay here for a special occasion, but for a regular trip to New Orleans, it can't be beat. We'll definitely recommend it to friends,
My only complaints were the thin, scratchy towels and the fact that there was no mattress pad on the bed (which I've never seen before). Nothing major, just things I would do differently if I were running this inn.
The location is nearly perfect. You can reach so many things (Bourbon Street, French Market, complete French Quarter) with just a short walk!
The wifi didn't work all the time.
Location Price Staff
Walking in the late night to and from French Quarter Cleanliness
Great genuis loci, free parking in the street, short walk to all the sights
Location, price, waffles for breakfast all pluses.
Wi-fi not working second night in.
Condition of room, poor facilities
The two women working at the front desk were extremely nice.
They gave me a bait and switch room that was in the process of being "renovated." They refused to change the room even after admitting I paid for a Deluxe Suite but was giving a standard room. My check in time was scheduled for 3pm but I had to wait until 6pm. The room had no blinds, no TV, and no hot water. After complaining they had someone put up a makeshift shade over the window. Throughout my entire stay they never fixed the water nor did they ever bring me a working TV. They also had housekeeping banging loudly on the door starting around 7:30am (returning every 15 minutes). The maintenance workers were also banging away with hammers against the wall around the same time. I actually thought I was on one of those reality joke shows. The funniest thing was them offering me $20 off my stay for the inconvenience. Absolutely ridiculous. NEVER AGAIN!
Very nice furniture, not too far from city centre.
Maid came only once in 5 days
Location was good, walking distance to most places. The person that checked us in was very nice and helpful.
Was not very clean. Room was extra small. No real privacy in the bathroom. They are renovating and the noise started around 6am. The cleaning ladies were rude and not consistent with times they would show up. I cleaned the room myself and just got extra towels.
Clean place, very close to the French Quarter, grate value, friendly staff, will definetly recomend to my friends.
The whole stay was great. The employees were nice, the location was great.
Not a thing
The rooms are not that clean and do not have the. Room dark at all to
Loved the outside breakfast area. Breakfast was good. Liked all the info in the lobby. Liked that it was a unique place versus a corporate chain. The air conditioner kept the room very cold and comfy. Loved the location, really cool neighborhood!
The urinal cake was so strong it made our whole room reek. Couldn't take a shower without getting scalded because the toilet kept running intermittently. Also we were a little surprised to wake up to construction, i.e. hammering, power tools.
The staff was kind. She upgraded us to a suite because there was construction going on next door to us.
Nothing- it was more outdated but definitely worth the cheap price.
It's my goto hotel. Friendly cozy
It was a cozy little historic hotel and only a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter.
They only had blinds over the windows with big gaps in them. Actual curtains would be nice, we hung the shower curtain over the glass door so we could sleep comfortably. Also the water jumps from hot to cold in the shower.
I work remote and this hotel had by far one of the best wi-fi connections of any hotel I've stayed at. Its a simple place to crash for the night, no real comforts or amenities. For the cons I pointed out if they don't bother you and again your here to sleep and shower then this is a great hotel otherwise it may not be for you.
The main things I didn't like were: 1. Bathroom was so small sitting on the toilet my knees hit the wall 2. Shower nozzle was level with my chin and I'm 5'10 3. There was a a little hair on the shower stall wall when I checked in and after one cleaning. 4. The room felt very dorm style with cobwebs behind the bed, no real ceiling just the beams, room fridge connected to an outlet in the bathroom via 2 extension cords.
It was quiet. The taxi serfvice saved the trip.
The rooms were in disrepair. The Wifi didn't work. There wasn't even a signal... The breakdfast was 45 minutes late. The next day the manager had an attitude with me because I made coffee. They seem to sit like vultures hoping you miss the 11 oclock check out so thaey can cgharge you for another day.
It is not something you are expecting from a cheap a hotel travelling in states. It has nothing to do with motels you will see here and there. The place is truly local with the furniture in the room from the previous century. It's so authentic you will not pay attention to small minuses.
It seemed not very clean, because obviously the room needed some repair. But everething else was nice.
Huge room for my friend and I. Two bedrooms and a living room. Hotel is aged but fits the decor of the neighborhood. Only a 10 min walk to French quarter. Nice staff, a little loud at night with the metal gate entrance banging during the night as folks come in. Quick continental breakfast and a good hotel especially when the rest of the city is packed. I had fun and have no complaints. I'm a pretty easy going person.
Great location,and cute room..Considerate staff.
No coffee, in early am.
the room was BIG!!!!!
A real taste of New Orleans, very traditional style building in a nice quiet area. Friendly staff especially the lady that helped serve breakfast in the morning
The overall condition of the place is very rundown, ceilings cracked, shower head leaking, outside door did not close tightly, the vanity had the contact paper peeling off, and the toilet was not anchored down properly. The continental breakfast was lacking and the cat was walking over the counter where the food was placed. As I was waiting for service in the office a gentleman asked the clerk why his room did have a bathroom facility and he was told it was like being in Europe and had to share with other guest a bathroom outside, and if he had read what was provided he would have known that. As I was waiting which was 2:45 and he said ck in was 3:00pm and there was nothing going on, and he was on the phone with his friend talking about what was going on last night, so as a customer I was not that important. As I had two bags the clerk did not even ask if he could help with one of the bags and I had to climb a flight of stairs in order to reach the room. I would not return to this place.
it was wonderful to have 2 rooms - very comfortable bedscos - parked next to room -
had to take taxis to French quarter - central air would be better in summer - cost $9 with tip each way - cab drivers were very nice - we had a hard time finding hotel originally - one way streets difficult to figure -
