This is a unique property in an equally unique private community. With outdoor decks on all three levels, the view reaches acres of protected forest, Sengekontacket Pond, and Nantucket Sound in the distance. The community has exclusive tennis and pickleball courts, a dock, and a boat launch - a perfect place to put kayaks in the water. There are walking trails throughout the 125-acre community as well. Across the cove is the Audubon Society’s Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, which hosts multiple daily programs for children and adults across 348 acres of pristine land. Over cocktails on the main deck one night, Olga Hirshhorn, a legend and champion of the arts, insisted every house should have a name, including her one-bedroom pied-a-terre in Washington, D.C. By evening’s end, she declared that the hillside house should be named “Treetops” because of the hundreds, if not thousands, of trees the house overlooks. While the house is in a secluded setting with virtually no other homes in sight, Edgartown is a short drive or a fun bike ride away. At the entrance to Sengekontacket, there are bike paths to Edgartown and beyond to South Beach.
