Beautiful hill station town with all the amenities of a city. All cuisines available in restaurants. Drives to Cherrapunji and other parts of Meghalaya are scenic. Barapani (Umiam) lake is outstanding. Traffic can be congested during school hours, so avoid those.

Its a cluttered, extremely crowded city. Way too much traffic jams. Every sightseeing spot is a tourist spot where tons of people visit to take quick selfies and get out. Not worth. It can be a point to arrive n depart to rest of Meghalaya Things I did - David scott trek which is around 20 km from Shillong Lunch at Dylan cafe. Great place for good music n ambience Dinner at Shillong cafe. Good ambience and food.

He is one of the most genuine people we have met during our 6 weeks travelling India. He will make your stay in Meghalaya extremely easy and we will without doubt contact him if we come back to meghalaya. The rooms were clean and tidy and the local Kasi food prepared was exceptional.
