Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australiathe room we lived near the elevator on the top floor. Every time the elevator started, the sound was too loud to affect our rest. We hope to improve the sound insulation of the room.
Wonderful balcony which we can see the Sagrada Familia.

NetherlandsThe first night we stayed on the 1st floor at an adapted invalid room (room 101). This wasn’t comfortable as everything in the bathroom was lowered. Plus the shower leaked on the whole bathroom floor. Luckily we changed rooms the next day - if someone books a standard room without any special needs request, this room should simply not be given to them.
The location and the view from the room (7th floor) are fantastic!! The view is simply stunning and is truly the Barcelona experience. The staff is also very friendly and polite. Breakfast is quite average. There’re a couple of nice cafes around which are a good alternative.

CroatiaOur room was not cleaned 2 days out of 7. Breakfast and bar was below 4 star standard. Generally speaking, room has to be renovated, especially tiles on terrace and room floor.
Location is excellent! We have booked room with terrace on 8th floor with great view on Sagrada Familia

SpainReceptionist Valeria truly exceeded our expectations by ensuring we had a room ready well before the official check-in time, which was a lifesaver for our family, particularly with two young children aged 5 and 7. Valeria's dedication to ensuring our comfort deserves immense gratitude for her exceptional client service. Additionally, we were delighted by the fantastic breakfast provided. Lastly, the hotel's proximity to the Sagrada Familia cathedral was a huge bonus!

PolandThe breakfast was okayish. We also had a small incident with the room but the staff handled it perfectly. In any other hotel where the staff wouldn’t so attentive it would be a huge deal but you can see the staff is trained well and very professional.
The location is great with metro station right next to the hotel. We booked the room with terrace and view and we were wowed! Absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very nice and helpful. Everything was clean.

United StatesOur room faced the Sagrada Familia, which was great for the partial view. However, a school playground was right in front of our window and the noise was deafening from 9 AM to 6 PM even with the window closed.
Location was great. Hotel was clean and spacious.

United KingdomThe room we had 801 was a little noisy from the lift (nothing a pair of ear buds didn’t fix) but the views from this room spanned the sagrada to the beach. I can honestly say that this was the only slight issue there was from the entire stay and certainly didn’t detract from the hotel as we weren’t there to spend time in the room. The breakfast hot items could have been a warmer temperature but again no detraction from the stay at all.
Amazing view. We had the top floor room with the corner balcony room. You couldn’t have asked for more in terms of views. The bed was quite firm which I loved and massive - it was the type of mattress that didn’t transfer movement when someone turns over. Hotel was spacious and clean, and the staff were lovely. The bathroom was large, nice rainfall shower as well as the bath.. It was well maintained and a good distance to the tour buses and the sagrada as well as a train station on the next corner. There was a good choice at the breakfast - if you compare it it to continental breakfasts else where (you aren’t going to get a full English so no idea about other comments) the coffee. There are also some really lovely restaurants about within minutes of the hotel.

Sweden- Maybe just the old floor (with some loosen tiles) and a bit poor soundproof (I was woken up by people talking/walking by the corridor).
+ Location is good, close to metro and just 7 mins walk to La Sagrada Familia. + Our room is on the top floor with a direct/magnificent view towards La Sagrada Familia - we enjoyed it very much during our stay. We got a king-size bed which is very comfy and is perfect for our 3-member family. + Check in and check out was very easy - I've learned that one can checkout online. + Breakfast is good, we like the variety and quality of the fruits a lot.

Irelandroom itself (light fittings badly painted around, one of the floor boards slip when you walk on it and nearly had a fall when out of the shower so minor maintenance issues would need to addressed to get those 100% ratings, on the terrace the tiles beside the door where missing grout so you could see inside the wall one of the lights on the wall on the terrace didn’t work
Room 803 was amazing the terrace was the selling point , it was huge and looking directly at sagrada familia , it was breathtaking, bed was huge and comfortable shower was powerful and hot, staff where pleasant , like how secure the hotel felt and location was superb with monumental metro station right outside

AustraliaWe were a little far from where we spent most of our time while in Barcelona shopping, eating and strolling. All in all though, we didn’t actually mind and travelled on foot, rather than taking a taxi each day into the town centre.
The staff were super helpful and the location was great because of the Sagrada Familia. I liked the fact that I could just walk by it every day because it’s so spectacular to look at. I didn’t originally pay for the breakfast, but we ended up doing so because it was delicious and great value for money, especially considering how expensive eating out tended to be.

United StatesHaving breakfast included would have been nice, and there was some confusion with price matching using booking.com when breakfast should have been included, however, I tried to but couldn't fix that by communicating through the website at the booking site prior to coming. I let it go. This is silly but if you are used to washcloths for your shower, bring your own. I only stayed in one other place in Barcelona and they didn't have any either. The shower temperature was a little difficult to regulate and it was almost too hot. I forgot to mention that to them as we only stayed one night.
We had a beautiful terrace view of La Sagrada Familia, which was only blocks away. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was a king size which we really like. The front desk staff was very helpful in directing us how to use local transportation.
