Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe room is well laid out, but is small. There is no closet space, just a couple of hangars on an open rack type structure; ok if you're only doing 1/2 nights, but I imagine it's not suitable for any longer stay. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The sheets and towels were fine, but it just seemed to be a bit grotty, despite looking as though it's had a recent enough face-lift.
Location. Being right beside Estacion Sants and two minutes from Tarragona metro, it's well connected. Also, it's a doable stroll to the Gothic Quarter. Thanks to the reception staff, I was checked in before 11am, which I really appreciated, as I had travelled in on an early morning intercity train.

AustraliaThe breakfast left a lot to be desired. This is the 3rd hotel we stayed in in Spain. One in Madrid and one in Barcelona. Both had excellent breakfast.. The bread rolls were stale, and the bacon was tough, hard to cut with a knife.
The location was great with access to most of the interests we had.Room was a good size with a comfortable bed.

SerbiaToo minimalistic and yet has 4 stars. There's not even a glass in the room, let alone expected things for a four star hotel, such as... mini bar, or coffee/tea making facilities.
Very comfortable bed.

FranceWe have stayed in the Expo a number of times in the past. It is being refurbished and the facilities in the bedroom were not as good as before. Long thin room with no hanging space at all.
The location by Barcelona Sants railway station. We arrived by train and needed a convenient taxi the following day for the airport.

United KingdomNot much. The room needs tea and coffee and water also more drawer space, otherwise we were very happy. One thing that was quite uncomfortable was the light under the bed.
The location is very central, the rooms are nice, on the small side, but cozy and everything was within walking distance.

United StatesThe rooms are very narrow and sparse. Not a lot of room for storing our stuff. It was fine for us because we only stayed the night and we’re using it as a rest stop before our final destination but if we were to stay there for more than a couple of days, we would’ve not enjoyed the small room And lack of furniture.
Very close to the train station so that made it very convenient. Several restaurants within walking distance that we were able to check out. The breakfast in the morning was by far the best attribute of the hotel. It was awesome!

United KingdomCould off had more people to assist in checking in, especially when you know you have a group of 15 people staying and been told the arrival time. Some of the rooms had dirty floors like they hadn't been sweeped and dirty shower floor. There are no coffee facilities and nowhere in the building to get a coffee. Some of the phones in the room are not working and there is not enough information in the rooms.
The front desk service was very good. Very helpful and clean entrance. The rooms are nice and the beds are very confy. Enough towels and toiletries. The view and location are on point. It has a lot of amenities around overal a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. The late check out at 12 is very good.

CanadaWe didn’t get to stay for long enough:)
Convenience to Train station. The woman at reception when we arrived was alone and there were multiple guests waiting for various things. She multitasked managing us all and was efficient as anything. She seemed to make all of us feel valued but did not rush us out. I was amazed at her professionalism. Hotel was very clean. We had asked for twin beds and got them. The unique way the beds were set up made excellent use of a narrow room and so it felt spacious and easy.
