How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was within walking distance of everything in town that we wanted to do and felt very safe and secure with front door codes There was also a tesco express right around the corner if you forgot anything or need anything during your stay

There were heating issues on and off in the shower as we were in a hurry so we didn't have time to connect the support staff in this regard. Another missing point was the hand held shower point, with the toddler it was tough to manage it. Overall it's ok as we were there for a short time.
Vicinity to the city center, well maintained , very clean apartment, has all necessary items in place. It was quiet, secure , had garden access and complete privacy.

With parking at £18 a night included the cost was a bit on the high side at £135 a night for a couple in a 1 bed apartment but all in all it was a very pleasant stay. One small suggestion - the kitchenette was very well equipped and stocked but some paper napkins or a roll of kitchen towel would be a good edition.
We’ll located, very friendly online staff, very nice apartment. Very good security.

Wasn't obvious which parking space we had paid for, when we worked it out there was a car and a motorbike in the designated space. Was advised we should have phoned the company for advice but it was late and then would have been an inconvenience.

The only problem was the iron didn't work, no biggie though.
Excellent location as so close to the BRI. More cost effective than a hotel, also tesco express just a stones throw away. This made a very stressful time much easier. Being able to do a later check out helped alot too.

We were a little confused about the heating. We didn't want to mess with it so it did get a little cold on the second day.
Really great location and easy to come and go from. Really well stocked with everything we needed! Very easy to walk in and just start relaxing and living there for a few days.

We felt it was a bit like playing Crystal Maze trying to get into the property - codes and lockers, keys and fobs, but once we did it the once, it was OK!
Perfect for a couple of nights away with friends, extremely clean and good location for what we needed. Great communication prior to arrival even though we didn’t meet anyone in person.

It was noisy outside of the property in the evenings and early hours but it is in the centre of Bristol.
The property was extremely convenient for the Bristol Royal Hospital. The property was clean and comfortable and well appointed. The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to help us during a challenging time.
