Would have loved to use the hot tub. My friends were told they were being upgraded to a room with a kingsize bed, at no extra cost. We had booked Budget Double Rooms x 2. This was true, but the room, originally an ex storage room, was separate to the main property, at the rear, with one small clerestory window, and a small shower room/wc with no bath or window. The furnishings were not of the same standard as the other rooms either. The room had no views, and was dingy. They told me this didn't feel like an upgrade at all. We were also sold on the idea of the 12 option breakfast coupled with the Sparkling and Snack Station, but hadn't booked this in advance. Karen kindly waived the additional £5 per person additional charge for booking onsite. For some reason we had the idea that the breakfast with so many options would be a kind of tasting menu. It is not. However it is very delicious. The Sparkling and Snack Station is basically sparkling water, Sodastream style, with water flavourings, together with some delicious nuts (1 type only). On the shelf below this were some additional large platters of what looked like additional snacks in interesting colours. These, unfortunately, turned out to be potpourri!!

Only thing we could think of is the room was very bright at 5am because of the curtains/blinds not being the blackout type. So was woken early on a bright summer morning with that - as there is substantial panoramic windows in the property.

Great bed, great spec, and very clean overall - and well maintained. Great views in a nice area, with a welcoming friendly host.

We would have preferred to eat at our own able rather than at a communal table, but the rest of the stay was so wonderful, it didn’t spoil our stay at all.

What a lovely place! Absolutely beautiful room with highest quality furniture and fittings (better than 5* hotels we have stayed at). Bed was so soft and comfortable, lovely toiletries. Highly recommend booking the breakfast. Host very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay there again and will heartily recommend to anyone visiting the area.

No elevators was a minor inconvenience and very slow WiFi. Also the automatic light in the bathroom would switch off way too quick.

We love everything, nothing we don't like!

The breakfast is wonderful, home cooked breakfast with 12 different choices! The beddings are really comfortable and the terrance is huge and we had an enjoyable time there!

It is too exclusive. For instance, we arrived at 9:15 pm and were asked to be quite since in all the rooms the people were already sleeping. In addition, there are a lot of extra expenses that are quite expensive if you want to have breakfast (20 pounds per person) or enjoy from some goodies in the fridge.

The place is extremely beautifull and very esthetic with special views and some cozzy places.

We booked with breakfast included in price. Then told on arrival that breakfast was not included due to booking on booking.com. Not enough milk for coffee and tea. Perhaps a small carton in thr fridge may be better option than small 5ml tubs.
