This is a B&B at hotel prices. However, it was clean and comfortable, if lacking in amenities.

This is a B& B at hotel prices. There isn't any bar or public rooms, it's just a bedroom.

The room was large and the bed comfortable. The staff we meet were helpful and friendly.

The coffee at breakfast wasn’t great. It was rather watery and served in a thermos flask. It would have been very nice to have the option of having high quality, freshly made coffee at breakfast (expresso, cappuccino etc). I would have been happy to pay extra for this. It would also be nice to have had a choice of tea bags at breakfast (earl grey etc). Other than that, the breakfast was excellent.

Extremely comfortable large, light and airy rooms. Traditional style, but the rooms were in excellent condition and not at all out-dated or tired. A refreshing change from the identikit modern, characterless and cramped business-style hotel rooms which are everywhere now. There was also lots of off-street parking space and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Lots of stairs so not great if you aren’t able bodied. We didn’t have a proper shower over the bath.

Enough rooms to accommodate a large group, 14 of us. 3 in our room. Beds very comfortable. Only 20 min walk across lovely park into the centre. Very clean. Fab cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Free onsite parking.

We were transferred to the sister hotel the Arundel House hotel so we got a really large room for the same price as the Ashley. There is also a restaurant at the Arundel which is good

The bath tub drain is clogged and they were not able to fix them.

Room could go with a bit of a makeover, but for an old Victorian building and the price paid, the hotel is amazing value for money.

We had no real heating in our bedroom and when we asked the receptionist she said she’d get it fixed. This was a lie as it was Friday about 6pm and maintenance had gone home and don’t work at weekends. She never offered to move us to a different room which she could have as there were not many people in the hotel that night.

The rooms though dated are spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable. The shower was good. The ladies who serve breakfast are delightful and friendly and the breakfast itself is good.
