Not very accessible for elderly or sight impaired..Series of awkward steps on stairways and no lift.Breakfast disappointing...Full English was tasty but cold. Served at our table within 2 or 3 minutes which unnerved us a little..Self service toast and drinks ..Toaster very slow !! and no marmalade (at 9.30) ..Milk and Juice jugs not very pristine .Filter coffee jug almost empty.We skipped breakfast after first morning..

Very pleasant staff.. Helpful and polite..Very comfortable bed and nice linen..Restful and relaxed..Hot water and heating..Air conditioning available in room..Will return as convenient for us for family visits.

On arrival the building looked derelict . And going around the corner there was people outside smoking weed .. very off putting .. the first room the tv didn’t work .. second room was much better more spacious clean and tidy although the shower kept going cold .. the walls were very thin that we had to ask next door to keep the noise down as they were having a party past midnight .. although I messaged the property as they explained no lift working that if possible to have a ground floor due to me having a prostate leg and a number of disabilities , the hotel did not respond to my request . They put us on the 3rd floor with all our bags it took me ages to climb the stairs .. so on that basis alone I won’t be booking again .. the only good thing my room was tidy clean but everything else I won’t recommend .. on arrival the plants outside are full of cigarette ends ..

Tricky to adjust temperature of shower to comfortable heat. Dirty carpets from front door leading upstairs. Staff seemed young (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) and very casually dressed. Smell of cigarette smoke in room sadly. We put it down to a smoker cleaner but then found cigarette butts on flat roof outside our first floor window. We were woken at 3:50am by fire alarm going off - someone smoking in room? It needs a big clean up on the smoking front. Suggest they have sign on reception with £100 fine for disobeying no smoking rule, as our previous hotel in Gloucester did (which seemed extreme at the time!) & take a credit card deposit for this purpose.

Comfy bed. Good breakfast. Location worked for visiting family. Owners have clearly made efforts to improve decor … repainted corridors with nice furniture & smart decor in room. Warm room & plenty of hot water.

Ideal location as attending family event in location. The rooms were ideal for our requirements, clean, with comfortable beds, each with its individual decor. Breakfast was satisfactory but would request a vegan option, which was not available. The external appearance of the hotel is deceptive as the rooms are beautiful. The stairwell and walls, however, need upgrading. The service was exceptional, all staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much for them and they tried to accommodate all our needs. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

When you drive along the road to the hotel, the hotel looks very drab and it looks if it is not open and slightly derelict. The outside could be made more attractive. The worst thing was the noise from others staying at the hotel. Doors which bang, you could hear every single footstep and the floors cricked so much. So not an entirely good nights sleep.

There was plenty available for breakfast. The facilities inside the hotel were perfect for my short stay.

Tv didn’t work so ended up moving room. This one only had 3 channels you could watch. Hotel very tired looking and rooms could do with good clean. Glad only booked 2 nights.

I only stopped one night but was kept awake until 4am by the people directly above me. Music, talking, stomping around the room and lots of sex on a squeaky bed. This is not your fault but it might put me off staying there again. I did mention it to the gentleman on Reception in the morning.

Kind of old fashioned but that’s ok with me, staff nice, English breakfast exceptional although wasn’t very clear how to actually get it.

Paid for the best room you could have and there was paint all over the floor it was a standard bath and not the roll top as advertised.
