Room was very tired. Curtains just about covered the window. Wardrobe bowed at the bottom possibly due to a previous flood. No AC room was too warm.

I wanted a hotel for 1 night - a quiet room and comfy bed - it did the trick so I'd definitely come back here.

Just a little dated - in need of a good re-furb.

I asked for a quiet room and was very pleased to have one round the back of the hotel. I didn't hear a single sound.

Stayed here two years in a row and both times I have received a parking fine. Both times I paid £10 at reception and they noted down my number plate but fines still came through in the post a month later. Very frustrating, not sure if receptionist isn’t passing details onto parking company.

Nice hotel and really good location, a little outdated in terms of the furniture but still clean and comfortable

Room too hot despite having window wide open other room 142 shower stuck on scalding, pillows flat. We stayed last year and noticed a decline in state of some parts since, looking very shabby. Public areas nice, bedrooms and bathrooms in need of some freshening up.

Hotel felt tired. Leisure club closed for refurbishment. Breakfast not hot. Fire alarm twice set off in error. Lift out of order.

Parking is only free at the weekend. It's on a very busy main road with lots of road noise but it is in a busy city so to be expected. Cleaning needs to be more scrupulous. Double lock on door was very difficult to operate even after treatment with WD 40. TV remote was missing.

Breakfast was very nice. A comfortable bed

The bedroom had a musty smell. It was dated. Downstairs in the public area it was great. Breakfast in the hot buffet was luke warm.

Bar and restaurant area appeared freshly renovated but the bedroom was dated and worn. The bed was not particularly comfortable and the heating was on full making it very hot

Reception staff and bar staff were great. Food and music made for a lovely evening.

The beds were old and lumpy, decor outdated, the paint coming off the walls, dodgy bathroom light switch, the room was so hot we had a window open all night as we couldnt turn down the hissing radiator and not to mention the fire alarm “accidently” going off

The building very tired but clean, for me as a 75 year old was dangerous no slip mates, could not turn the tapes on, l had to stand in the bath the pressure was very strong l slipped, the pressure hurt my skin as we could not turn the taps down my friend had to turn it down but it was even difficult for her The smell of musty on the stairs, bathroom door didn't lock, my main concern was the bathroom for me personally safety, was very shabby, Breakfast was good as included in the cost

    Service was okay

No phone in the room to contact reception; tea, sugar and milk in the room was on the minimum side; TV was basic and not smart so couldn't sign in to streaming services; one little bin serviced the bathroom and the main room (which was inconvenient more than a problem)

The hotel is easy to get to and has ample parking (for a £10 charge in the week) Nikki was on reception throughout our stay and could not have been more helpful. Food in the restaurant was fast, tasty and fresh and the staff smiling, friendly and attentive. Whilst the reviews that are not too complimentary are not entirely unfounded, or even untrue, I've paid more for hostels with less appealing surroundings and for the price I felt my stay a bargain. I found the hotel clean and in good order and we were well taken care of. On the ground floor there are patio doors from the room which lead to a table and chairs on a small patio which was lovely.

Reception area looks very nice. But as you go upstairs the walls are crumbling and there's mould on the walls and our toilet was almost no flush which we did report. It's just run down . Deco needs attention. We really felt let down .

    The location was very good
