The room was very basic which reflected in the price but the firdt thing that hits you was the smell of stale smoke. The description of the room stated room with private bathroom. The private bathroom was a separate toilet and shower behind a roller shutter. The light above the sink was not working and there was no soap in the soap container above the sink. There was also a constant noise coming from the drain of the shower which lasted all night disturbing our sleep. We certainly will not stay again.

The cleanliness was questionable. When I walked in I saw there was chewing gum (as pictured) stuck to the bed side table. I cleaned this up because I didn't want any of my stuff getting stuck in it, which I shouldn't have had to do. The rest of the room was okay although the sink had a lot of strains in it.

The price and location are great. Livable especially for a solo trip for a short span of time.

The room was small. There was a pub opposite that had loud music on the Saturday until 1am which could be easily heard through the single glazed windows. Sunday was much quieter so slept fairly well on that night. We did not have any towels or tissues in the room but when we pointed this out to reception the situation was sorted. It is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for.

Check in was easy and the car parking outside was a bonus. Bed was comfortable

Main road outside the hotel can interrupt sleep a little as it can be heard through window. Walls are also thin, could hear next door neighbour singing incessantly while trying to sleep

The room looked a bit run down The carpets are no longer of this time..it would have been better if the floors were laminated in my opinion. The bedding was old and could have been fresher. I did enjoy my stay so it's not all bad.

I am a single male looking for a halfway decent place to stay the night, and it fulfilled that criteria. It was the cheapest accommodation I could find near the city centre that offered 24 hour check in. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.

Hotel was what we expected. Booked a family room for 4 adults for an overnight stay. Parking at the door was available on arrival. Staff helpful. Great if you just need somewhere to sleep.

The mattress must have been old. Both of us in the double bed experienced the springs biting into out hips and shoulders. A very uncomfortable night with possibly 4 hrs solid sleep. By 5am we were up, cup of tea and ready to leave.

Staff excellent chatty and helpful. Bedroom small but useful. Bathroom good but noisy hot water. Overall decoration very good. The most important feature ruined the experience and rating. The Matress.

I was here during a heat wave, the hotel was not prepared for it, as it could not supply me with a simple fan. Prior my stay I have emailed the hotel asking for a fan, the staff replied they just had one fan and it was being used by someone else. Very disappointing. During my stay, the room was extremely hot, and only one part of the window would open, this became unbearable as the air could not circulate. Not to mention that the supermarket LIDL opposite the hotel had their broken alarm going off all night, on both nights of my stay. The hotel staff said it was recurrent. These were the worst nights of my life. The carpet wasn't clean, a lot of dusty, and the room layout was very awkward with the sink actually in a corner. The toilet was micro with all the fittings falling apart. The outside area, at the back was also disappointing as it looked like a bomb site. What a waist of good garden space.

The Cotswold hotel breached an agreement between us and refused refunding my money for reservation which was free of charge cancellation, fully refundable.. They said they will not pay money back because this is booking.com fault not them. This matter will end up in a court.
