When I booked the room I thought Breakfast was in the price.When I checked in I was told I had only booked a room the was £210 for the night.I was asked to pay an extra £22.95 per head for Breakfast.

Reminiscing about our visits to Mrs Davidson in the kitchen in the late 60s & 70s & even earlier for my husband. Walking around the grounds. The very tasty & generous toasted club sandwich we had in our room. The view from our bedroom window. The extremely comfortable bed & pleasant room. Chatting with the Receptionist & the Breakfast waiter about the Hall and the Dugdales.

A beautiful hotel, with such history and character, the staff were so accommodating and polite, the food was just perfect, and the view from our room was idyllic. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, it was such an incredible experience.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. I just had breakfast each day but the food was good. The countryside setting is very impressive. It all brought back memories, I have stayed there before, at the wedding of my niece.

Amazing location in the country side. Perfect location if you look for alternatives opposed to Middlesbrough or other cities. Amazing breakfast with lots of options.

We loved everything about Crathorne and would highly recommend. All the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with numerous options to suit any taste, where you could order as much as you like. The house is beautifully kept, with so much history and many features have been kept.

I left a special request if they could put something in the room for my boyfriends birthday, to which they agreed but nothing was in the room when we arrived. Not the end of the world but would have been a nice touch!

Amazing location, room was still a decent size even though it was the cheapest option for us. Staff were all extremely polite and helpful.

Hard to see the village sign in the dark at the end of the road, could do with better signage on the junction. The trendy bathroom taps were too complicated!!

For the first time in a very long time, I'm struggling to find anything to write in this box! It's no more expensive to stay here than in a comparable property in say Harrogate or York but way better overall value here. Decent coffee and tea selection in rooms, super comfy beds and room fabrics / furnishings. We had two deluxe doubles as travelling with children and they were both a good size, decent bathrooms. Loved going for a run around the grounds and then out into the wider area and back, really in the countryside yet accessible to main roads. Really excellent Thank you!

Really terrific country house style experience. Reception rang day before to check configuration of children's beds so they could have them ready for us on arrival - it's rare for a hotel to ring before check in and it was greatly appreciated. Lots of small touches and attention to detail added to the enjoyment. Food was excellent, we had dinner and breakfast at the hotel main restaurant. There is bar meal option for more casual dining - though the bar is relatively small and cosy / intimate so wouldn't be an ideal place for bar meals for a young family with small children but fine for older ones. Service from all the staff we encountered was outstanding. Some super local bridleways / foot paths for runners from the doorstep.
