Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSingle room was microscopic, barely room to swing a cat. Booking for the pool was absurd- I had to wait 45 mins for a swim to find 2 other people using it and therefore had it have dinner very late. I was told one restaurant was full until 8.45 but when I arrived at 8pm they said, kindly that I could choose. Please sort out your bookings/time slots they create a poor experience in a rather fantastic venue
Hotel has incredible site, location and facilities to offer. Food was superb and the pool is truly excellent

United KingdomThe breakfast was warm but not hot. I would have liked the website updated as it said I had to book for things like the gym (Covid times style booking) but when I asked at the leisure centre they said I did not have to. I was concerned that I may not get into the gym as I didn’t book but was relieved when told it didn’t matter.
I liked the relaxed feel of the place. I also liked the Victorian baths as they were something different. There were lots of parking spaces which was useful.

United KingdomFor the price of a hotel stay you’d expect water in your room but there wasn’t any. No whole milk available either at night time.

United Kingdomabsolutely loved the Victorian baths but felt there should not have been an extra cost for this. It's most as if we were being penalised for not having children.
Location, large comforable too, great meal at The Terrace and lovely breakfast, fantastic grounds.

United KingdomOur room was large, warm and very comfortable. However we had problems with the hot water which was only luke warm in the evening. We did report it to reception who did offer us another room, but after travelling all day we decided we didn’t want all the hassle of unpacking. The water was hotter in the morning but then we discovered trying to maintain a constant temperature in the shower was an art form beyond our ability level! We did report all this as we wanted to make sure they sorted it out prior to the next guests using the room.
A very large hotel with plenty of facilities with really friendly and efficient staff.

United KingdomOnly restaurant available on Sunday evening was the Terrasse which was far too noisy and busy for us. Pool areas also very busy at weekends.
We’ve been going to Crieff Hydro for over thirty years and have witnessed huge changes. A huge host of activities and events available for all ages. Activity Glen also has so many fun activities, at a cost. Lovely walks in the area. Staff incredibly helpful and pleasant in all areas. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Meikle bar a lovely area to sit in.

United Kingdomthe property was cold at certain times also there appeared to be a desire to keep sections of the corridor dark (lights switched off) which seemed strange and possibly unsafe. some of the staff were a little rude / sarcastic although others were very helpful and polite.
property was clean and although the hotel was busy there was plenty of space.

Belgiumthat you have to book slots for everything that you have to pay extra for the Victorian baths which are for not accessible to under 18s that you are literally bombarded by with emails from Crieff Hydro before and after your stay (i have received more than 10 emails from you - this is not serious) that you charge a £50 retainer which is reimbursed after you leave (it can take 14 days to get it back even if you do not spend anything)
the location, the atmosphere and style of the building, confortable room, delicious breakfast, lovely winter garden, very attentive staff

United KingdomThere was the sound of music from 6 o'clock both mornings and again on Friday evening from 9.45 pm when we came back into the room until midnight like tekno drum base. I mentioned this to the reception staff when we left on Saturday. They thought it might be from another room and we should have reported it. We could hear the music faintly outside the dinning room on Saturday morning. I thought it was coming from the kitchen In room 135.
The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of everything. The room was clean and bright. The bathroom was very good and being able to switch off the fan when not required was a bonus.

United KingdomThe weekend we stayed was very busy in the hotel as it was the end of the October break and therefore had lots of families staying, plus there was a wedding on the Saturday. This meant it was very noisy in the dining areas and we were right beside the area where there was entertainment for children. The only bar we could find was packed. We went downstairs to the Terrace restaurant and bar, but again it was busy and not the relaxing ambience that we had hoped for. This is a very large resort and were slightly overwhelmed with the scale of it.
Crieff Hydro is in an excellent location in Perthshire with lots of places to visit nearby. It is situated in beautiful grounds and we enjoyed walking around and admiring all the specular views. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was lovely - spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the food - there was lots of choice and it was of a high standard. The best part of our weekend stay was visiting the Victorian baths - a perfect place to relax and unwind.

United KingdomThat the spa had not taken my payment of a PRE BOOKED treatment as a gift for my husband and then I received an embarrassing call to say it hadn't been paid AND my husband was asked about the payment! It was a gift from me! Not only that, I then had to chase your hotel to make the payment as the link that was being sent via email never arrived....a very unhappy ending to an expensive weekend away! I also asked if there should be water in our room, something I would have taken to be a standard thing at any hotel and was told water was not included in my room type, but reassured the tap in the bathroom was fine to drink from. I don't drink from the bathroom sink at home and I'm certainly not doing it in a hotel room that cost me over £200 a night! Such a poor service and responses to my question
The size and layout of the family room we had
